Lol, stay inside where it's safe.

I got a news alert about 30 minute ago that 4-5 of the cats grouped up, that I mentioned earlier have been euthanized. These things were roaming residential areas in a group. At least they took care of the problem before a kid got killed.

Anyone want to guess the mammal that is not in the Big Five but kills more humans each year than any of the Bigs? I am specifically excluding the technically correct answer "other humans".

sorry I didn't realize you meant Africa only. I read not long ago that it was over 25,000 globally most in India.
i think i saw that, and they were mostly talking about rabid dogs, healthy ones kill a few, but not nearly as many. and a lot of the deaths from rabid dogs aren't from the injuries suffered, but from the rabies not getting treated in time

India has a significant wild feral dog problem

"An estimated 35 million stray dogs live in India and according to World Health Organisation (WHO) India faces about 18,000 to 20,000 cases of rabies every year. According to the WHO report an estimated 45 pc of all deaths from rabies occur in South-East Asia out of which about 36 pc of the world’s deaths from rabies happen in India itself."

that makes sense. It stuck out for me because that number seemed a lot higher than I would have expected... I probably didn't get further than the article abstract. If google is correct there are less than 150 dog attack fatalities in North America annually.

If push comes to shove, I could kick my poodle's ass. A pack of vicious dachshund's is a whole new ballgame. https://nypost.com/2018/05/16/pack-of-wiener-dogs-mauls-woman-to-death/

Rabies from a dog kills Virginia woman after yoga retreat to India
Health officials say the case is a reminder that rabies is a risk in many countries tourists visit.

The symptoms started with a pain in her right arm. The patient, a 65-year-old Virginia woman, went to an urgent care center and got painkillers. There was no hint that she in fact was infected with the world’s deadliest virus and was already destined to die – the price for contact with a puppy in India.
