My budget 5X5 setup

Sounds like a great summer plan, wish I had such plans. I'd forego a planting if I could go off on an adventure such as yourself. Lucky you bro. Lol. Would love to hear about the new grow when you've progressed into it. Be an interesting comparison with that big no till you've got started, anything else change in the plan or just the planting bed? Have fun travels and happy growing.
The only thing I'll be doing differently apart from the mega-pot, is adding a few more bulbs. Right now I'm pushing just over 33 watts/foot in flower. I'd like to see what happens if I up it to at least 40W. I have extra sockets already mounted I can use, so it's an easy upgrade.

I'm at 32.9 watts per sq ft for the veg room with the panel. Hooked it up to the kill a watt and its 395 at the wall lol. Higher than the math said it should be. Lol. About 16" height. They like it alot. I'm hitting 44/ft in my flower room. Does quite well. 535 at the wall in there, about 20" height. 18" seemed too close at that power. Tops weren't liking the intensity.

Looking good! Doesn't legalization feel great? I said fk-it and now I just vent my tent straight out the 2nd floor spare bedroom window without a carbon filter and only a 5 foot run. My exhaust fan suddenly moves more air on low speed than it did on full with the filter. I can't wait to drive around my suburban neighborhood to see if anyone is brash enough to grow weed in their front yard.

Now you guys just have to go Federal with this. I want to be able to cross the border into the USA and tell the border guard "Oh, I have just an ounce of top-shelf bud on me for the trip", and have him answer "Oh great, well enjoy yourselves!" Lol

I'm sure people might grow it all over the place I like Johnny Appleseed LOL I have an enclosed fenced-in backyard in which I would be able to do a couple of them outdoors without them being visible to passers-by walking or driving so I think I may very well try that out I'm still bewildered by how well these like $0.88 per box LEDs work there's a few in there I paid full price for like some Cree but those still were not expensive , I finally got one of my grandpa's breath seeds to sprout regular seeds hope it's female that should be some really good indica it's crossbred from granddaddy purple and something else I forget

$0.88 each? I guess we Canadians are being killed on the exchange rate more than I even thought. It's not fair! :P

A lot of Canadians who know how to grow are very worried that so many newbies in their neighborhoods will be growing them that it will be difficult to grow seedless with all the pollen blowing around. Some people who indoor grow are even installing HEPA with pre-filters for their intake if it draws air from outdoors to prepare for summer. Personally I doubt it will be that bad, and most of the fear is dominating all the Canadian cannabis related Reddits. You know how hyper, sensitive, and terrified a lot of those Redditors are. Lol

I run a hepa filter on my intake. Even if there is no worry of pollen, theres still the various bacteria, molds, bugs etc I'd like to keep out of my room. Better safe and high than sorry and wondering why is my motto. Lol

I just started 4 feminized Afghan Hash Plants (Canuck Seeds). All 4 plants share a 4 foot diameter pot that holds 150 gallons of soil. I didn't do much to prepare for this cycle, except to add some home made worm castings on top, some azomite for mineral content, and the mulch to keep everything a bit moist and keep the biology going at the soil surface. Normally I'd have a thriving cover crop at this stage, but it died off while we were on holidays. Luckily the soil didn't dry out completely and the worms in the pot lived through it.

This is what the largest plant looked like last Sunday a couple days after germination:

And here it is one week later (today):

And here's the same plant after another 2 weeks (photo taken today):

That's a giant tomato plant beside it that popped up from the bit of worm castings that I top dressed the soil with before laying down the mulch. I directly planted the cannabis seeds about 2 weeks later. Before the weed overtakes this tomato, I'll be taking some cuttings and planting some outside when the weather is warm enough. Even though we started lots of varieties of tomatoes from seed already for this season, my wife and I are curious as to what the heck this fast growing monstrosity of a tomato plant this is. lol

The only thing I've done in the last two weeks is hand water the pot once, and I topped all four plants last Sunday. This upcoming week will be a bit busier, as I'll be spending at least 20 minutes tying down the highest branches for initial LSTing.

In case anyone is wondering why I wrapped this 4 foot diameter fabric pot with plastic, it's because in my first 2 cycles I noticed that the biological activity was very low in the soil within a good 4" of the pot sides. It just was drying out too fast, so the plastic is there to retain more moisture to the pot edge to keep the activity even throughout the soil. I left about 4" of the pot unwrapped where it meets the floor.

I really like what you re doing.
Congrats
Thanks. I managed to pull a pound of organically grown ripe tomatoes during veg before the weed shaded them out. Lol

They were flipped May 31st, and starting to get that "fluffy look" already. I'm surprised how much they stretched so far for these being so Indica (Afghan Hash Plant - Canuck Seeds). Plants fill the tent, but are over 4 feet high now. With the height of the pot, I have about 2 feet of head room left to raise the lights. I'm not nervous though, as I think the stretch is almost complete now. I'll post an update with pics once they get a bit further along.
