Need help I am getting worried!!!

So I am a new grower starting autoflowers I planted my seeds Sunday after germinating and watered them with quiet abit of water but not to the point it drained out bottoms of drains holes I am growing in window sil been really sunny lately and getting spring but they are still wet and deep down it's still wet but they are growing like beauty's both have set leaves growing growing quick and fast
NOTE THIS WAS THE DIRST AND ONLY WATERING I HAVE FEED HER SO FAR

don't water too much. when they get bigger they will start to drink more. let em dry out a good bit. train them root zones. if you are running coco then that is when you don't want it to dry out i believe. but running in soil you want them to dry out a good bit so the roots grow out looking for water and when you water they just drink it up. rinse and repeat. you dont need to water to run off i don't but if you do it that way you need to take into consideration salt build up. people that run super soil don't let it run off due to leeching the nutrients which is what you don't want.

you will be fine just don't over water, don't over feed. if you want to see my grow with NO runoff check out my current journal it has not been watered to run off not ONCE. i got run off once via water running down the side but not real run off. i under water my plants for the most part.

So you think I should just let them feed off this water till it's somewhat dry also my soil is promix hp has no nutes nothing in it I have to put myself which I'm gunna do week 2 also my second plant has curling on one node but is grow nicely and leafs are showing yesterday just looks retarded

You should try promix hp mychroizine amazing stuff has perlite and others in it also question is it bad to mix ur soil up in the pot where its growing not add anything just literally soften it up cus its really compact and wet to help dry?

that is what i am using. idk if it is but i personally do that but i only do the very top layer nothing else. better way to get it to dry out faster i've read and many people told me is to take a stick like a chop stick and punch bunch of holes in your soil. it'll basically create air pockets and help dry the soil out faster.

Dont promix need ferts from week 1 on or somthing.

You will not get far in a window, you can do it but not advised - lights are a good bet

yea pro mix HP does not contain any nutrients if i am not mistaken. i personally would add a little more perlite to it as well for better drainage but on it's own it does okay i've had worse experiences

You want that soil to dry completely out so the bottom roots get oxygen and stretch for more water. This is what develops a healthy root ball and not root rot cuz the roots never dry out Think of your leaves as a gas guage when they reach E it's time to fill up .......I've learned there is a proper way to water a potted plant and then there's sticking a finger in it. You can't feel the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket with a finger...like I said no offense man, Hell I'm still learning. I have the first edition, but just picked this up it's an awesome read

This is what develops a healthy root ball and not root rot cuz the roots never dry out Think of your leaves as a gas guage when they reach E it's time to fill up .......I've learned there is a proper way to water a potted plant and then there's sticking a finger in it. Soil should never dry completely out and rarely does in nature or you reach permenant wilt point. Even saturated our soils contain plenty of air and is what we refer to as free draining.


Once a propotion of water is used from the soil its time to water again - It need not be dry just have lost enough but not so much we reach wilt point.

I always wet and drain the whole pot before planting a seed. it should not need water again until the next week is over.

I've tested a few seeds, germinating them, and then never watering them.
They lived for two weeks sustaining themselves by eating themselves up from the tip of the root back.

i don;t take offense im here to learn from everyone.the finger trick you just stick your finger in not to the bottom. it's to feel how moist your medium is for noobs so they can adjust watering or soil issues like lack of drainage. i don't believe in letting the soil dry out completely. why? CEC and bennies. i let mine dry out completely and it's a bitch to get wet on days i have to water. i haven't seen any personal differences between the 2 when it comes to water uptake it still takes as much water and as long to dry out

as for not letting it dry out i was talking about coco that is what i've read you NEVER want your coco to get completely dry. i should have stated i don't grow in coco nor have experience so maybe people that grow in coco can better explain how to water it.

the finger test is optional it basically acts as a ghetto moisture meter but after a while you get used to telling i guess they tell this to noobs because they tend to baby there plants more often ( watering too often vs watering less often ) which in terms causes over watering issues.

i simply water when the soil is almost bone dry but still moist. basically feels like it is fresh out of the bag. for me that usually takes about 2 whole days in a 7gal i can run them up to 4 days but by day 3-4 they start to get bone dry already.

I'm sorry but this is the reason I left this site years ago "BAD INFORMATION" No wonder so many people here have problems.
I haven't had a problem since I left this site and found one that actually uses science to grow. I mean tried and true methods!!
My plants tell me I made the right choice!!
