Week 8 tric’s cloudy 20%amber, but still throwing out tons of white pistols. Chop em or wait?

How’s everybody doing hopefully well. My ladies are at week eight right now all the tric’s are cloudy milky in about 20% Amber. That sounds all well and good and pointing towards harvesting however they are still throwing out a ton of white hairs. Do I cut them down And harvest or wait until the pistols stop throwing and change color? Any one deal with this before? Usually for me, when the tric’s are ready the hairs are right there with them and have mostly changed color and receded back into the calyx. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Without knowing what strain. I can say there's a bit of stains out there that will toss new pistils forever. Trust your trichs, 20% means it should have been chopped last week to me. I usually shoot for about 5% because trichs will keep turning amber during the cure.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, and usually do.. trust the tric’s. But this strain just keeps throwing and I’ve never come across this. Couple fellas on YouTube swear by the hairs but I’m with you, always trust the tric’s. Think I needed someone to just reaffirm to not worry bout white hairs. I’m actually leaving work rite now to go take care of business!! thanks macsnax

Ya just stop looking at trichs, thats for pros not new bees. If some one tells you you need a loupe run as far away from this idiot as possible :-)

I'm wondering if I should chop it nights are down in the 40s now
Youll know when its too cold for your plant, shell show you with her damaged leaves that dont rebound in the day. Better to harvest the day affer a frost than weeks early.

Well I cut a small bottom branch off and put it In a brown paper bag hope this doesn't shock the rest of my plant.

alot of growers at first mistakingly look at leaf trichomes.
you want to be looking at the trichomes on the "false seedpods" or calyxes.

when the pistols recede and the calyxes swell, is usually when you know you're getting close with no loupe yet

I judge mine by going down to about the center of the plant and then look at the calyxes, and if they are all milky, it means I have at least 3 weeks to go, and if they have milky edges and are browning in the center I have two weeks left, and finally when they turn all brown but have not fully receded inward I have a week left...

Two weeks left... (milky edges, browning centers)

One week left... (they are all brown and starting to recede inward)

I tried to put the top photos with my other post but I couldn't edit that post, but these are what the tops looked like when looking at the calyxes in my other photos...
