Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Newfoundland and Labrador:
"Hey all, please read the last paragraph of our release. You can transport "open" cannabis in your vehicle as long as it is not readily available to any occupant in the vehicle. A suggested place ,if available, would be the trunk"
Here is last paragraph:
RCMP NL reminds motorists that when transporting cannabis in a vehicle it must be in the package that it was purchased in and the seal must be unbroken or the cannabis must be stored in an area of the vehicle that is not readily available to any person in the vehicle.

This person must of had "open" cannabis in car that was "accesible" thus, the charge.
You can have cannabis "accessible" if it is sealed in manufacturer packaging with excise stamp still intact. Therefore, if you grow your own it always has to be treated as unsealed and thus, you must put it somewhere not readily available.

So to clarify. This lady was charged with cannabis readily available? Not that the cannabis was not in an LP packaging?
If so, then everything I was arguing was irrelevant and would only apply if it as referring to the actual packaging it was stored in being illegal and not the issue of being readily available.

Yup, stupid charge, but she's guilty of it. I'd definitely demand the cops get tested for THC though - just to waste their time.

or one of those large danish butter cookie tins....No reason NOT to carry 150g with you, after all, it is legal...
Reminds me of when I lived in Texas back in the early 80's, the guy I rode to work with was moving, so he would take a load of stuff each morning... One morning, he was moving his gun, a pistol. As per the law, he could not carry it concealed, so wore it in a holster on the way to work... we stopped at a grocery store go get breakfast (quart of chocolate milk) and he wore it into the store, and nobody even gave it a second glance...
For me, a Canadian boy, I was freaking out, thought for sure swat was gonna jump out and surround us at any second...

Yeah, 150g isn't gonna fit in my pocket, obviously...
I don't drive any more. I stopped driving when I was taking a lot of prescribed meds, and since switching to medical pot instead, it's just not worth the risk, I don't want to be the one to test the new laws... If I thought I needed to take 150g with me, I would, and would not be worried, as it IS legal. If I was taking a month to go camping and travelling, I'd need that much....

Easter surprise! I was on my deck smoking a joint on Sunday night around 9, enjoying the peace and quiet after the kids and grandkids left, and I look up to see a cop walking towards me. My house is secluded and at the top of a hill, so I don't get visitors unannounced especially without a vehicle.. Turns out someone had seen lights on and a window open at the camp I look after and called the police to check. I walked back over to the camp with him, smoking my joint on the way! I felt like a kid getting away with hitting the teacher with a spitball! A funny end to a great weekend!
