statistics show self driving cars are much safer, soon insurance companies will demand it. Self driving cars never get drunk, or fall asleep, or get distracted texting or have a heart attack. self driving cars can see 360deg at the same time, you cannot. They can communicate with each other, ect....the list goes on and on

I'm a very late adopter. I've seen myself described in marketing groups about customers for tech as "the laggard" who waits until the tech is necessary. I don't own a cell phone much less a smart one. Just a laggard. Just wait, these high tech cars will be perfectly good when they stop supporting the software and the car freezes up. It pissed me off when I had to replace my perfectly operational computer when XP was no longer supported and safe to use. Our Honda Element is becoming unreliable, not because the engine is wearing out but because those damned expensive sensors are failing. So, great. car can drive itself but I doubt the self driving car will last as long as my 68 VW bug did.

Oh and fuck Alexa. Won't have it in my house.

I'm a laggard and hate tech but my home is paid for by working in the field of new tech product development. Go figure.

That's OK, I found out today that drivers that manually drive their Tesla's are feeding the data used to program Auto Pilot.....You can still do your part:-D

No cell phone...let alone a smart phone ?
my Echo Alexa starts my coffee and cuts on my kitchen lights, and plays jazz music just by me saying good morning. Also have the echo dots working in the bedroom and family room like intercoms. Have the light in family room dim, red, blue, yellow ,bright white just by my saying it. Enjoy playing jeopardy via Alexa. Makes phone calls as well. So much shit that thing can do. Do you have any smart devices in your home ?
Dude get one, then tell me how you don't like it

Well it wasn't long ago we had rotary dial phones.....phones have evolved, but automobiles operate like they did 100 years ago.....
I realize we will see the day with self driving vehicles soon. Just would be weird as fuck not having to steer, brake and all the other shit done whilst driving

when elevators were first invented you needed an operator to pull a lever at just the right time to stop at the right floor, today you just push a button....

Hey back in my day " Facetime " was some George Jetson shit. I do embrace technology, but still cautious on its use.
Like cloning. Only should be done with marijuana , hops and prize tomatoes

i Just bought a 92 Toyota pickup to replace my 88 Toyota pickup that I just couldn’t force to pass emissions

I sold the 88 to some dude for $1200 and he has it listed now for $2200

I hope he gets it all!

Most people already live in a prison within their own minds, I will be free where ever I am. So, folks in Colorado have it better than folks in Texas? I will watch Colorado. So, its great. Lets see what it morphs into. Then we can decide. There is not a state in the country where people who grow and use in their own home get arrested. Most counties post a daily arrest record. Look in your own state and county and see how and what people are doing when they get busted. You will go blind before you see a case where somebody like me gets arrested. What you will find is that for the most part, there are no busts for just using marijuana. You will find that almost all marijuana possession charges, are made when someone is arrested for something else like shoplifting.

Different people use this stuff for different purposes. I don't smoke it. I am fine with you smoking it. I use infused oil. Do, you care? I don't. Some people use it for recreation. It is good for that too but it is not only a cure but it is a preventative for cancer and countless other maladies. If more people realized the health benefits of this stuff, it would be legal.

Hey, we are American citizens or from some other supposedly democratic society. We are part of the sovereign. Government gets its authority from the sovereign, in theory. Government needs to get its authority from the sovereign in practice. Yes, I am taking a big chance, I suppose even if there is not a lot of risk in it. That is because I strongly believe in what I am doing. Marijuana is illegal because people mindlessly obey oppressive laws.

Marijuana is illegal because people have become so docile and passive they don't put up much resistance to anything that is done to them. If marijuana was truly legal, it would sell for about as much as green beans self for as produce in a grocery store. Nothing good ever happens if folks don't put themselves at risk to make good things happen.

Why would it not pass ?
ran rich. adjusted the carb more times than i would like to admit, tried this and that and the other thing but could never get it down low enough to pass. carbs are before my time.

i picked up the new truck for a steal. paid $1400 after it passed emissions but it could easily go for $4k because for some reason people really like old toyota pickups. i guess i can see why since they are so reliable. the dude who was selling it was hard up for cash.

now i can ditch the old jetta too since i only had it because it could fit a baby seat. the new truck has an extended cab which can fit a baby seat in the back. once she hits 40 pounds i'll put in her booster seat which will fit even better.

but i do miss one thing about the jetta already - the power steering. not having power steering sucks.

Each to their own.

I find all that stuff unnecessary. If I don't need it I don't have it. I have a stainless steel electric water kettle that I fill when I get up and it boils the water while I'm taking care of business in the WC. I use the hot water to make my coffee and oatmeal for breakfast.

I'm not claiming my way is superior. The opposite, in fact. My job in tech is putting my kids through school, paying off my mortgage and makes for an interesting job, so I'm not going to knock people who do like it. I appreciate that people like the things that I help produce. The largest profits are made from early adopters and early majority users. Laggards like me, not so much. I bank the difference.
