True. Which is why I say if you're going to try and remove some dirt/soil, be very gentle with the roots and don't "wash" them off. More of a submerge and spin back and forth. You can just put the dirt in the coco and not fuck with your roots. The plant isnt going to care. I always start with potting soil and sometimes up pot into coco or half coco mix.
I grow seedlings in 6 oz dirt pot. Once seedlings are about 4” high I put them in 1.5 gallon hempy buckets (plants still in dirt) buried in pure perlite. Water/feed with 1/2 tsp maxigrow per gallon aged tap water from start to 2 weeks before flush. Add dry kool bloom 1/2 strength tail end of flower to maxibloom mix. Ph 5.8-6. Feed 2X day till light runoff. Use plenty of 15 watt Edison base led lights, you'll be glad you did. Also add cal mag if needed. Vinegar to lower PH. Good luck and happy toking. Done this about 10 times.Hi 1212,
People do it all the time. Gently wash off the dirt in a bucket of warm water...get as clean as you can. There will be an adjustment period...hydro plants need water roots, but they'll grow them...
