The republicans once renamed french fries to "freedom fries" because they were pissed at the french, I wonder what they are gonna call Chinese food now? Will they have a "Krystal Night" against Chinese restaurants, call those who eat Chinese food traitors! Will Donald call out his brown shirts to teach the heathen Chinese a lesson? His base is racist and xenophobic and would jump at the chance all they need is the word from their mighty leader, just add em to the blacks, natives, women, Hispanics, Jews and Muslims he's thrown under the bus already.

She's a nurse so she had to work last weekend. I'll probably have the cod sandwich platter. Last time I had stuffed grouper. I'm in Appalachia where people think red lobster has good food!

I’m in Alaska where the residents of Fairbanks would perform human sacrifices for a Red Lobster or an Olive Garden. It was a huge deal when Firehouse Subs opened last year.

But you can get reindeer sausage at a lot of places for breakfast.

My great grandfather was a German from the colonies in South Texas who ended up in El Paso TX in 1886. He was a cowboy by then having been on a drive from Abilene TX to Miles City MT. He worked and opened a grocery store with his own butcher area.

He was a Presbyterian and a devout conservative. Yet in WWII the family grocery was tagged and vandalized a few times. He was a Nazi!! Then? He was a Jew! Or at best a Jew lover because he would allow the 2 rabbis in town to bleed cattle for Kosher after he would shoot them per their request. It was good business.

If it’s not cloudy we see them a lot. I live 45 miles southwest of Fairbanks. Near the confluence of the Tanana and the Yukon Rivers.

Winter is an excellent time to visit. Flights are not crowded and room rates are low. Weed is legal. And Alaska just made on-site consumption legal. They’re working out the details.

Without something like that ready to go at a moments notice -- something that is good and easy to fix, my go-to quick meal can be pretty unhealthy. There is a Kentucky Fried Chicken just down the street and I admit there are days when I put in a long day, tired to the bone and my car just drives itself there for some very bad for me comfort food take-out. I have frozen soups that I can microwave but they just don't provide that satisfaction that a pizza or other fast food provides.

So, yeah, I might just look into one of those to keep on hand for those moments. Thanks for the tip.

China is the US digest credit supplier. If they get pissed off & stop buying US debt it would crash the market....1929' kind of crash. It would ruin us economy, we are playing with fire. China can play hardball here, with some really hard balls....o_O

They can devalue their currency and screw a lot of Trump’s dreams up. They’ve done it before and he’s accused them of doing it for political reasons. They could slap tariffs on 100% of American agricultural products and piss off Trump’s most consistent base of support.

The rest of the industrialized world is watching in dismay as Trump focuses on forcing China to buy more American products and being fair to American businesses instead of concentrating on overall change of Chinese tactics so that it’s a more level playing field for everyone. Why is it our responsibility? For the same reasons it’s our responsibility to go to war for Chevron and hedge fund investors. We’re the big dog in town. If we can’t force it then what chance does a smaller country stand against them? So now more animosity towards us. Well deserved animosity.

there's a nice mex/american diner in town here that has hung an american and a mexican flag outside of the entrance for years without any controversy, as soon as trump secured his parties nomination the restaurant was immediately facing a backlash as well as threats for displaying the same flag that was used for several years prior from the local idiots whom been sitting on their brains all these years...that's what happens when the bigots felt a new reawakening sense of empowerment to openly express their racism freely in this trump era.
time will tell, trumps been villainizing other ethnicity's since he conned his way to the presidency, i guess it would be only a matter of time before he stated to fuck with the asian-american people.

I tried that Pepin method to debone a whole chicken as recommended by @Fogdog, made some gluten free stuffing and added sautéed courgette and wilted spinach, damn that was good hot with butter gravy and cold with tomato salad and mustard vinegarette.
Since the Chinese are the largest holders of American debt all they need to do is dump US treasury bonds and bankrupt the whole country. Shit’s getting interesting, eat well while you still can.

If it hits anything over 0 for a daytime high we feel good in December and January. But the wind rarely blows here. It hit -60 in 2017 but never got below -40 last winter. Global warming is real and it’s here in Alaska.
