Renewable Energy + Battery Storage = Fossil Fuels Obsolete, Even Natural Gas

Democrats are the only thing keeping republicans at bay......you should thank them for their service to the country
Except when they bail out banks and leave homeowners to twist, or pass NAFTA, or ramp up the prison industrial complex, or go after journalists and whistleblowers, or trample on the Bill of Rights...

I know you really want something to believe in without reservation but neither Elon Musk nor the DNC are worthy of such blind obeisance.

What perfect Tty style "Vulcan logic". It's the Democrats' fault that Trump is doing so much damage to the country is kind of like him saying "If my girlfriend had more self-confidence, she wouldn't let me force her to go have sex with strangers in a sleazy hotel room so that I could take most of her earnings and spend it on crack. It's her fault!".

And yet, on a certain level, we all know that is probably how he justifies it.

Fucking sad.
Hey look, yet another post completely devoid of any substance.

Just more personal attacks.

Thanks again for telling the world you have no opinions worth considering.

You sure have some high standards for somebody that forces their girlfriend into creepy Wyoming motel rooms to fuck strangers for your crack money with only a couple of condoms in her pocket to protect her.

I'll let my post stand for them to decide. I care not for the opinion of somebody who forced their girlfriend to do hazardous and unpleasant sex work, took most of her money and can't even raise his own kid.

Keep hating because you think it hides the fact that you have no argument.

Loser

Lol. Wow, getting called a loser by somebody who can't grow decent weed, has never had a job and abused his girlfriend into sex work and took most of her money really hurts.

Why don't you post answers to the multitude of your "facts" that I and a dozen or more people have called you on before claiming that I don't have an argument, pigeon?

Can you give any reasons why?

The thorium reactor design? Ginja was high on that one as I recall.
Energy output for the input. Despite the radioactive waste, it is actually one of the cleanest, most reliable and safest methods of electricity generation.

We shouldn't be shunning it, if anything we should be putting vastly more of our efforts into reprocessing solutions for the waste.

We should be doing it all domestically, it could make many well paid "good ol' American jobs" and reduce the cost of energy for the most vulnerable in our society.

I'm still in favor of massive renewables investment, but nuclear is just always there and "always on" and gives off nothing but steam.

Don't just take my word on it tho, research it yourself, I did after the debate with ginja and am man enough to admit that with the new data I acquired, I was wrong initially.

You know me... it's always about the numbers.

I get it. And yes, nuclear power CAN be a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels. We COULD make a safer system and COULD put nuclear wastes into safer storage sites. Actually we SHOULD do so with the existing waste.

There are alternatives to doing this. Until they are exhausted, maybe we should invest into research but not commit to nuclear power?

The technology has become incredibly mature even compared to the current reactors in active service today.

The alternatives are unfortunately dependant on outside factors and require storage.

Solar, wind and nuclear would be a wonderful combination.

Fun fact: Russian state media is about to broadcast their own version of the Chernobyl story. The cause? The CIA.

So Tty should be spouting that line of bullshit soon.

It was a false flag, the Carter Foundation certified it.

True. The only point I'd make is we should build out a considerable portion the alternatives before committing to building large scale nuclear power plants. We will learn a lot along the way. Big corporations like nuclear because it gives them control that they don't have in distributed power systems like solar. I want to see us build expertise in sustainable energy systems before making the investment into nuclear, which is considerable and have been wasteful in other more recent efforts.

What I really want to see is a plan for how to get there with alternatives such as no nuclear or nuclear options included. Our legislators need better information than what they get from lobbyists and environmental action groups.

I've met two of the engineers that ran that plant. The whole thing was caused by the Russian mob. They took all the high grade steel and concrete mixes and parts and sold it all for profit and substituted cheap materials in their place.

The plant never had a chance of withstanding the stress tests they ran.

There is no operating thorium per generation station on Earth as yet. Therefore it's still an experimental technology, far from 'mature', but for someone who goes by the numbers you sure play fast and loose with words.

Geothermal energy generated from Yellowstone would also create nothing but steam- and no radioactive chaser!
