Distance for seedlings

I have a 1000 w set up and I was wondering if I can put my seedlings underneath that light ? I just did a transplanted them in 2 g pots, and I was just wondering how far away to put that thousand w over my seedlings because they’re going in a room with seven other plants that are about 3 1/2 feet tall in veg ?? @Renfro @hotrodharley @New Age United

At least 40”. At least. Under the canopy of another plant is perfect if you can’t get that distance. The diffuse light is more than enough.

I usually start mine about 5 feet away from 1kW CMH.

These are the little seedlings I have after a 2 gallon pot transplant that are not yet under my 1000 W light I just need a little advice prior to doing so

Just start them on the floor with the light up high and over a week or so ease the light closer until its about 3 or 4 feet away.

The ones on the black pots in the dome are candy rain seedlings.

The picture with the two buckets on top of each other is my ceilings obviously anyway it’s about 40 inches away

You've said '1000 watt light' several times, but you didn't say what kind of light it is. 1000 watt Metal Halide? 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium? LED? What are you working with?
