Bleaching powders

Hey what's going on guys, so the guys over at future4200 are confusing the living shit out of me and I'm trying to figure out how to use these bleaching powders correctly.... from what I understand you're supposed to make sort of a layer cake and then put it into the closed-loop system and blast through the layer cake but I I have no idea what I'm talking about and if somebody could please help me learn what I'm talking about I would greatly appreciate it.

Magnesium silicate, interesting. If it absorbs crud while not absorbing THCA it might be a good thing to use. Kind of expensive but might be worth it if the difference in quality is noticeable. I doubt if butane would pick up much water soluble polar stuff anyway but alcohol might, so it would be good for alcohol extractions.

Hehe I guess I forgot to ever respond to this thread . It's definitely interesting. I don't really know how I feel about the idea of introducing other chemical agents to the whole process. Im sure the way many chemical interactions/reactions work it might not leave any traces behind. Just seems strange to me as a non chemist .

Most of those dudes on future 4200 are extremely knowledgeable and good at extractions. They confuse me too, lol. I keep seeing this clear bho tek, but my question is......
Does it rob the terps? How can it become clear without robbing something from the resin?

Do people still believe carbon absorbs cannabinoids? I hear about color redemption classes and discussion about bentonite or metal silica and all that. I know you all are also trying to preserve terps but I still hear that about thc

I have heard mutiple times carbon absorbs a certian % of your thc

I know. Heard it lots of times. All people repeating what they heard without trying. Its always "I heard" never "I tried failed and tried again "
It has Not been my experience (loosing cannabinoids) but, I'm just me. But I'm not sure what perpetuates this, "I heard "
Lol however I suppose it does draw people into the crc seminars and sells a variety of polishing products.

What tech/source/method are you or others citing ? Theres 100 ways to skin a buck.Or are you speaking from personal experience and have done all the testing?

I can show you test all day long and throw numbers out there but you would just have to take my word on it. I base my claim from having the flowers tested and calculating the potential thc in the biomass then testing the extract. I'm happy with what I'm getting. Confident I got all the thc out of the flower. Not really seeing any significant losses myself.
Maybe a gram of 2 here and there which I can chalk up to mechanical losses

Maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges idk.
Everyone is working with wax derivatives and polishing those. I'm just dissolving tricombs in ethanol here so maybe its 2 totally different beasts .
If you try, a couple things I've heard people do that sounds wrong to me is using simple gravity filtration and the wrong type of carbon from the wrong source.
Use vacuum filtration and baby powder fine mesh carbon from wood ash. And try a little at a time to be safe. Re filter until you get the desired color. I filter cold

Yeah the guys at Future4200 are working with BHO extraction methods which is very different from what you're using as far as like ethanol goes

Basically what I'm doing. I give it more than a quick wash and use a closed system but the same idea. Basically all you need is a reaction vessel to wash it in a rotovap to purge it. and a short path or thin wiped film system if you want to take it up a notch.
