18 zips possible in 2.4 ×1.2×2.0

I'm Thinking of doing 12plants in I6 litre pots using just coco fibre and pebbles..think I'll have 2 ×600w hps lights 6 inch extractor fan ..
I recently Did my second attempt in room half the size and got six zips. This time I'm using some better strains which I got from seeds myself.. Does 1 an half zips per plant seem a reasonable target for my third attempt??
Don't want to set my sights too high only to be disappointed
 
Sounds reasonable, due to different genetics from seed you might find a few that don't yield well but still, at least a zip per plant.

You could clone them, then just use your biggest yielder for the next run.
 
I would just do 8 plants in that space, 4 under each light. And even if you just topped them once at the 5th node and did nothing more to them but maybe tie them down a little to spread them out, and then lollipop them right before you kick them over to flower, you should easily be able to pull 24+ zips using 2 x 600w hps lamps while growing your plants in 16l pots... And I say that because I have one tent that is a 3 feet x 6 feet x 7 feet, which is smaller than the one you are going to use and I run 8 plants in there under 2 x 600W hps, using 4 gallon cloth pots, which are a little smaller than the ones you are going to use and I constantly pull 30+ zips out of that tent just doing a single top at the 5th node. And as a side note... in that tent I use cloth pots filled with 60% Sun Shine Pro Mix #4 and the other 40% is perlite!

Thanks mate I don't want to yield anything under 1 zip pp or il be gutted lol anywhere over 1 or better near one an half zips is a massive bonus..
exactly what I was planning with the clones...I've got a few decent strains to go at now..Thanks for your help and advice from uk

30+ zips thats yields my dreams are made off lol... so do I just veg my plants up until the 5th node and then top them?? how long after topping my plants do I need to stay in veg before flipping over to flower? Ive Read that keeping plants in veg for a couple more weeks is best after topping? ..Thanks for your help and support!

Hi, everyone for sure has their own way of doing things so my way is just my way, but it works great for me, plants don't get any tall than 29" to 34" inches and no matter what I grow in a "real" 4 gallon pot will get me 5 - 7 zips if I just do the same thing every time. Anyhow, I start by simply letting my plants grow until the lowest nodes side branches are 1 inch out from the main stem. That usually results in the main stem hitting the 6th or 7th node. And if the top node is youngish, I'll let it go a few days more. Then that is when I start cloning some top nodes. For example say the main stem has 7 nodes, I will top the main stem right above the 6th node, and then I will make clones out the 7th node and its side branches, then I will let the 6th nodes side branches grow out for a week, and then I will top the main stem again, right above the 5th node. Then I will make 2 more clones out of the 6th nodes side branches. Then, a week later tie down begins... The top node, the 5th nodes side branches are continuously tied down horizontally level until each one hits the pots edge, then I tie them down right at the edge of the pot and the tops on each of those side branch will turn up own their own. and then I do the same thing for nodes 4 and 3, but for node 4 I tie down the side branches horizontally level until each one hits 1" inward from the edge of the pot, and I then tie them down right there using kabob skewers and nursery ties, and then the tops on each of those side branch will turn up own their own. And that always results in nodes 5, 4, 3 converting what normally would be small bud zones into many new tops. And I leave nodes 2 and 1 alone until they have made 4 nodes, and if either node 1 or node 2 is still making nodes, not "inter nodding", I will top them "1" time. Then after that they should all be between 16" to 20" tall, then I give them 2 weeks from the last time any given node is topped before booting them over to flower. And that always results in a nice even canopy with big, long buds. Oh yeah, I also lollipop my plants, 3 nodes of side branches from the bottom of each of the main nodes going up is discarded....

That's a 4x8 in ft correct? If so my lowest yield from a 4x8 is 24 zips, and highest was a lil over 3#. My lowest yield was from two 630 de cmh and highest yield was two air cooled 600s and 2 315 cmh(loved this combo just got too hot for anything but winter). After that I went perpetual and only harvested one half of tent per month and had 2 600hps with one de cmh in the middl e also air cooled. I consistently hit 1.5# or more per half the tent.so hopefully that gives you an idea of what to expect. Although I run a bit more light so that will mean yours will be reduced somewhat.
