I’ve been growing for 30 years and since moving into my current house I’ve struggled with my plants yellowing from bottom to top starting just before flower.

I never used a ph meter but finally broke down this year, tested it on th 7 ph bottle
and came in right on point. I tested my tap water and it came in at 8.7!!!! Couldn’t believe it so I rinsed the tester with distilled water and put it in the 7 ph liquid and again it came in right on point.

I bought some lemon juice and got it adjusted but the question is, how long if at all any residual alkalinity will be in the soil? First watering the ph was 6.5 and wondered if I should have started at 6.0 to correct the problem.

Since I have started testing the tap water it has been a consistent 8.4-8.7 ph.

Huh your tap water is 8.4 to 8.7 or your soil is ?

Tap water only, couldn’t believe how high it was. I knew it should be 6.8 but did
6.5 to take care if there was any residuals. I know I could take a reading from the
water coming from the pot I planted in but it’s so full of roots the girls are wilted by
the time I get home from work so I wrapped it in a white trash bag to hold as much water
in as I could.

I have a cheap 2 prong 3-in-1 probe and tap water is reading right around 7 and when I add Megacrop it appears to drops to between 6.5-7. I recently increased the amount of nutes to full strength according to the manufacturer and the plants are nice and green. Still no buds yet but they look close. I have a bunch of clones I just put outside, I had planned on another indoor grow but I already have plenty so I figured I'll see if they flower in solo cups, I'll probably be watering them twice a day. I have them on my back deck which I have to move around to get the most sun they can.

They are all super healthy and looking good. Full blown flower. Somehow...the other plants are actually catching the 7.5' Bluberry Fem.

Cant wait for these to finish up! They are ROCK hard, and you cant interact with the tent without stinking and having sticky hands. Insane layer of trichs. Few more weeks to go...

Wind has been brutal outside, but they are still loving life and look great. No issues to report, been pretty uneventful. Still praying for a dry fall! Switching over to full blown flower nutes Monday.

How often are you watering the outdoor pots? And what size pot are you useing?

Visited one of my old guerilla growing spots deep in the woods off an old logging trail. Lots of wildlife and a babbling brook make it a nice smoking spot now. I get there and I'm noticing a bunch of saplings cut down and a skunk smell in the air. Sure as shit I see 3 plants in holes i originally dug years ago. They looked a little nute burned and insect damaged but whoever is growing them gets an A+ for effort lol must be some teenager hiding it from their parents.

Depends on the plant, the heat, the wind...etc. I'd say this summer...on average, every other day. We are using a little less water every time we water them then in past years. Waiting until they start to look drained and the pots are light, then watering them. So we are watering the same amount overall, just the amount per watering cut in half and done twice as often. Feeding a full dose every time we water.

Using tap water that sits out in a kiddy pool for 24hrs before it's ready. The kiddy pool lasts 3 or 4 days then I refill it. Two of the plants are in 10gal pots, the rest are 7gal. All soil, all smart pots. The tallest is almost 7.5', the rest are between 6'-6.5'. Using the Botanicare line, Epsom salt, and a tea I make.

On one plant I am using nothing but Jack's Blossom Booster (plus Epsom). ..and it looks the same as the others. If the quality and finish is the same as the rest I'll be switching to that exclusively next season. Its $10 a pound (haha seriously) and so far is standing toe to toe with the expensive stuff.

We got a ton of root mass built up early this season by starting early, hardening them off aggressively, and specifically watering with root development in mind. You cant even put a finger in deeper then a half inch because the roots are so dense and healthy. It's more like hydro then soil at this point so they dry super fast and drink super fast. The wet/dry cycle feels like a matter of hours. It's a new method for me...but its working!

You should leave them a note in a plastic bag with some pointers. "Use this for bugs, lollipop/defoliate this much, ease up on the N, get this for flower..."

Haha... that’s a great idea

I remember being 17 and grew out a few seeds from a bag of the old school Brockton brown... tucked it in with my moms hydrangeas and she never had a clue

Blackie... you’re looking good man... that’s real far along for this time of year... I bet you finish first of all of us... I’ve been researching botanicare on your recommendation.. I think I’ll be going that way next year... it’s simple, makes sense, and incredibly well priced

so i'm driving down the street yesterday and theirs this guy outside messing around in his little garden he must of been close to 70 - 80 yrs old idk i didn't ask sorry his garden was maybe 4 ft from the road and as i'm driving by i notice these 6 ft what i believed to be Hydrangea's and i'm like no flipping way really but i wasn't sure so me being me i go out of my way to drive back bye later after i was done doing what i was doing and sure as shit they where weed ! laughed my ass off all the way home after that !

Being that close to the road, I hope he makes it all the way to harvest and that no one decides to help themselves. Rippers suck.
