How are you using your light? Do you have it in an enclosed Air cooled hood, Or is it just open to the environment of your grow room?

6x4x8 = 192 cubic feet. Ideally you want to have 2 - 2.5x that in CFM.

What is the ambient temp (the air you are pulling on to cool the room?)

You probably need an bigger blower, like an 8 inch vortex. Thing is though you can't cool the room with warm air so see what the ambient temps are.

As @jdog127 mentioned, an air cooled hood helps if you connect it to the exhaust blower.

Your fan sounds like a bathroom fan. If it is then that won't cut it. Also, if venting into the attic beware that in the winter the warm humid air can condense on the bottom of the roof sheeting and cause black mold.

And if you run duct through the attic, make sure you use insulated duct. I have insulated duct running into my attic and out a gable vent. The crazy thing is that ever since I started venting outside, my humidity has gone way down. I didn't even need to run my dehumidifier last time. I know it's dry here in CO, but I'm still a little baffled.

Agree with Renfro, you def need a bigger fan

i used a 440 cfm 6" in my 4x4 under 600w hps and could keep temps at 79-80 all the time. Ambient in my basement is 69-72

As for dehuey, its now my lifeline for heat during lights off lol....keeps rh at % i want but just as importantly it adds a bunch of heat hile doing so. works great for my room/situation

My attic is vented well. Don't think mold will be a problem outside air is more moist than my grow room.
Yes it's a 50cfm fan for a bathroom. I will be upgrading soon.
Also the light is on a wing reflector with a fan blowing on it.
Air moving in is around 68 f and 50rh

Well I'm not knocking them. I just haven't got any experience with them. And from what I have seen from people I know who use them the product is not better.

hmm, interesting. I've mostly seen the opposite - people get heavier yields with them (myself included). To each their own though. Best of luck!

There is nothing really to have experience over with LED vs HID. They're both just lights that you plug into the wall. One light generates heat like the surface of the Sun and the other 1 just generate light with little to no heat. Led's also eliminate the need for a ballast. But I understand Where you are coming from, I was just like you with the HID lights before I switch to LED. I wanted to use what I know works to, but after numerous growers on this site attested to their LEDs grows I had to switch and I have not looked back.

So I'm going to be looking for 500cfm vortex and hook it to a hood. And maybe add another inlet vent.
Thanks for the help.
