Would you flip to 12/12 yet? Picture inc

Hey guys. I'm just Just curious. Would you go 12/12 from here or a few weeks of training first for this big yield.
Just transplanted these guys. There in 60/40 perlite/coco.
And I gave them a dose of bacteria powder and seawead/aminos to help.
They get fed 1100ppm synthetics with some organic additives.
Myself I'm happy to pull 10oz every 6 weeks. Which each plant then only needs to produce 2+- ounces
I will be giving them a few days to settle then tieing them all down level and defoliating lowers. Then sending to flower.
From this picture I'm just curious as I'm sorta a newbie who taught himself From reading all your awesome posts here. When would you flower?
PS I think maximum for 1*1m tent would be around double what I get. CCamPic_000217.jpg
heres a picture included of two Dwc plants I just finished in my last grow. Inc hempys it looks about 12ounces in hand

Your decision to flip. I’d like to hear more about this chop every 6 weeks.
I should have elaborated more. I have a 2*2ft I veg them for 6 weeks. These 5 in the picture have just been moved into the 1*1m from there. As you could imagine they were filling that up big time. I've just planted 4 seeds. And I will take a cpl clones tonight to restock the 2*2ft. on transfering I'll let them get comfy to the new light and pot for just shy of a week or so then let them flower for 5.5wks. just as it gets about 20% amber 50% cloudy. I like more of a head stoned then couchlock so these 6wk strains are perfect.

Me too.

If it is a chop every six weeks how long does the transition last? 12hours?

I don’t see how any plant switched to 12/12 can be done in 6 weeks and be worth it especially after 6 weeks veg growth. That’s 42 days of 12/12.

Let’s say transition is quick and only takes 7 days.

That’s 35 days of 12/12.

I don’t know any strains that fast.

Please enlighten us!

Someone else was posting not long ago that they were chopping at 6 weeks. I can’t believe that at all.

I just looked back at a post I put up. Incase my time is wrong (6weeks) but it seems to line up to. I'm from Australia. And don't get me wrong I know I could let them rippen a bit more. But over here I was getting very low grade smoke. These new strains from overseas are crazy fast. By the time they are about at the 6 week mark from flip they're already getting amber thrichomes they're terpene taste profile is there and they're alot!!!! Stronger then all the stuff I ussually pay for.
I'll make a comment here the day I flip and keep you guys updated. It will be good to keep a bookmark for the date anyway haha.
Anyway this is where I'm at. Tied them all down level to the smallest plant. And defoliated a bunch. I'll give it a day or two then switch to flower
PS this is my first time using hempys only. Ussually I focus on a dwc setup with a hempy or two for backup

I’m also in Oz and I’m yet to find strain that’s ripe at 6 weeks but I hear on the shit smoke. That’s why I started growing sick of paying top dollar for shit product.
Amen to that!!!!

I've tried letting them go for 8 weeks or so. But half the time I get mold. Weather dependant.
I've just planted up a few sativa 7 week strains. To try let them rippen further. From the 12 or so strains I've found the three that finish in that time (to when I pick) is galaxy. Sweet tooth. Peyote critical
Everything else isn't even showing red hairs by that point.

You understand that “red hairs” are not the only thing to go on for ripeness.

Most plants will produce red hairs and proceed to grow more white ones after this time.

My “red hairs” stay red for almost 3 weeks before I chop.

Why?

Because they’re fattening up and gaining weight!

These are day 57 of 12/12 of quite a fast finishing plant DINAFEM CRITICAL +.

This can be pulled now and produce some decent smoke. But it’s effects don’t last a long time when it’s pulled early.

This will be going until around day 70 which will be 8 weeks of full flowering with a 2 week transition ( although the transition took approx 8 days)

Another thing.

Sweet tooth isn’t a new strain from overseas. It was in the cannabis cup of 2001 it’s listed as a 7-9 week flowering strain. That’s after your 12/12 transition.

Barneys farm Peyote critical is a 55-60 day strain after your 12/12 transition.

Also unless you find the exact phenotype and genotype the breeders used to gauge their earliest possible harvest times, the chances of your plants actually reaching their potential with the way you are flowering them are very very slim.

Gotya bro. I knew all that from the breeders page I bought them. 6 weeks is 42 days so I'm sure I'm losing some potential couchlock. But a couple of reasons made me short change them 10 days or so
1. I don't like my smoke to strong and the two biggest plants were revegged so they matured quick. 20% amber is enough for me. Plus it's winter here the tent sees 12deg up to 25deg temp
2.my veg tent was way overcrowded.
3.my outdoor grow season is starting soon so I needed the veg tent for raising mother's for that.

And I've never really let them go over the 7weeks 49 day mark. I ussually pick day 42-49 so that's week 6-7
Week 6 being day 42 I just call anything at that 40-44 day mark week 6. Correct?

Here's a piccy of the product (not quite dry yet)
I can see how it would fill out a bit better with longer. But my past experiences haven't been good with these dense strains and mould. Can't tell me that's not smokable. I picked it at 30% humidity. 3 days ago. Now we are at 80% humidity. So good thing I did.

Just an FYI.

If you’re not growing a strain that’s known being a couchlock strain ie a nice indica versus a nice sativa then you won’t get couchlock etc.

Grow an indica for couchlock and you’ll get couchlock if that’s its profile. You certainly won’t get an uplifting sativa style high from it by pulling it early. The only thing that happens is that effects are more noticeable if you left it fully mature.
Pull it early and the effect won’t last as long.

Grow a sativa for an uplifting high - leaving it fully mature won’t somehow turn it into a couchlock feeling from an indica.

Pulling early won’t completely change a strain profile. Such as an uplifting high from a couchlock strain.

Allowing to fully mature won’t completely change an uplifting sativa into a couchlock indica.

I have absolutely no idea why this bro-science is still being believed.

Immature buds = lower potency, less time that effect lasts for.

Over ripe buds = a longer lasting effect with some degradation of THC content.

Non of these changes the profile of the strain from uplifting to couchlock.

The strain will produce the effect it is supposed to.

:P it's the top cut off one to keep all the buds roughly the same size. You can clearly see the size of them in the first post attachments if you look :p
And guys why all the grief for picking it early. I'm happy with it? Are you defending the plants wellbeing? I welcome any helpfull advice. Even criticism. But I know I picked it early. I mentioned that lol . Like I said. I'm happy.
Anyway happy toking guys
