To flip or not ...

I don't normally grow indica, but I thought I'd try something different. Sorry, if the pictures suck. This is Cornbread from Rare Dankness. Its an 80/20 (Bubba Kush katsu cut x RD#2). Squat little fuckers and slow as hell to veg, My room is dialed in perfectly at 85f, CO2, ideal VPD until the last 2 weeks. Do you guys think I can fill this net at the end of the stretch or should I veg it a little longer under my flower lights?

I think you should wait and keep training the plants laterally until they fill out the trellis.

Yeah, but I don't know what the stretch is on these. I don't want a 3 ft vertical. Sometimes shit will stay squat in veg and blow your mind in flower. These are odd though. They have massive roots that are disproportional to the top half. Like shes preparing for something lol.

Most indicas stay pretty short. If you keep training them sideways while they veg they won't get any taller before flip. When a branch gets long enough pull it down thru the trellis and over a hole or two. keep doing that until the plants have filled the trellis.

If you flip now you will have a lot of empty trellis space, wasted light, lost yield.

A small difference in veg time can make a huge difference in yields. For me just a few days is several pounds. It can be tricky deciding when to flip a new strain but I think you will be safe so long as you keep training laterally before flip.

See the problem is, she is very bubba kush leaning. These damn things veg very slow. That's a 2 1/2 month veg. it may take another month to fill that net.

This is what a scrog is tho..weave it full and let all the nodes stretch up. Tying down works equally well I can assume?

Seeing a lot of use of what appears to be a screen, for a scrog used, for nothing more than support. In that case flip them. Seems wasteful?

IMO, use the screen as support apply it higher up on the plants.. after they stretch I'd assume the screen will end up waaaay below the undergrowth that all may be getting removed and the screen effectively not doing much.

Or... weave it like a basket. it takes a few minutes each day through stretch. Sing a song to yourself smile and think of all the tops that are going to blanket out the light from the floor.

In the end do whatever tf you wanna do, plants look great

damn thats a long time, sounds like the MAC 1. She hasn't been speeding up as she gets bigger? I bet she takes off after the flip, many of those slow veggers are just waiting.

They just started speeding up. If I vegged my GTH#1 clones that long , they'd be through the roof.

So, I contacted Rare Dankness about Cornbread. They said it has a medium stretch so don't let the slow squat veg fool you. as you can see they have grown a lot since Sunday. I'll let them get about 26" wide at the canopy and then flip. That will be at 75% of the screen. That should be enough for the stretch to cover and give me at least a foot on the vertical. Here is also a pick of my prized GTH #1 mom and her clones that have rooted. With her clones you flip at most 50% of the screen or you will have a mess. Her stretch is unreal ...like 3x to 4x.

They filled out quit nicely with the extra week of veg. This is 15 days into flower. They are definitely going to need to be defoliated at week 3.
