All my other 11 plants have been budding nicely but I have one purple kush that is way behind the others. I see some white pistils but not many. Is this plant more of sativia phenotype and just taking a bit longer to make buds? It's taller than the other plants not sure if it's still going through the stretch. The others all seem to stop stretching and concentrating on making buds.

All mine are hybrids and the sativa dominant Jack Herer was the 1st to flower a month ago almost, the rest are all different stages including 3 like yours right now. They don't look any different then the rest except the flowering part.

I have been growing a Purple Haze pheno indoors for a while now, and it takes 2-3 weeks longer than most of my plants. I am sure a Sativa dominant plant will take even longer outdoors. You will probably harvest them last. Are you sure that is not a Haze instead of a Kush?

If I hear Kush I think Indica, If I hear Haze I think Sativa. But I am sure yours is Sativa dominant.

It's supposed be an Indica domniant plant but the purple kush does have some sativa in it. I actually have two purple kushs. Its twin is budding way more and NOT as tall. Thats why im a bit confused lol. I'm guessing the other purple kushs is an indica phenotype and the other is displaying more the sativa genetics. Anyway it works out cause I don't have really any sativias except space queen and trainwreck. Does the plant look in good health to you overall?

Yes it looks healthy. It probably has tight node spacing from being in a pot and going through frequent dry/wet cycles. Next year I would set the pots into the ground a little to get them heat protection and access to the ground.

I wasn't meaning it as a personal attack. It just made me chuckle to read Sativia so I googled it to see how often people use it with that spelling.

Sativa is not a newer word, either...
You are misunderstanding me man. I appreciated your post. I thought it was funny to do a search and find all that. It's a new word to him I'm guessing. I've always known how to spell sativa personally, but aren't judging anyone if they don't.

Yes in fact I purposedly let them always have a dry out period. I'll usally soak the pots good and let them dry out about 2-3 days depending how hot it is. And
Amazingly for the last 2 months it's been in 80-95 degree range. I guess the soil mix holds the mositure well but not too much. I also lower the temp in the grow space by wetting ground down early to mid day. I wanted to make sure they really developed a good root system and forced them to search for water.

If it's a rainy day about 4-5 days dry out period. Some the stems are thick as hell! My biggest worry and nightmare is bud worms on my buds! Everyones been talking about the horror stories finding rotting worm shit in their buds! Damn mantises are taking forever to hatch.

My only defense currently is yellow jackets and maybe some stray frogs. Or maybe have to cover the greenhouse with plastic sooner than expected. I never thought butterflies and moths could cause chaos on weed! Always kindda liked them before growing. Not anymore! Used to hate yellow jackets and now respect the bastards and would never kill one again!

Anyway been a long 4 months and about 2 more months to go! People dont give farmers enough credit!
