Hi,
like you I am also on my first grow and using Viparspectra lights. In my opinion your plants look great. Only 1 month in and you have 5+ nodes so they are probably about to explode even more - don’t worry. By the way... how much fun are you having growing?? That’s the main thing!

I am using 2x300w in a 2x4 with 5 plants. I certainly could have used more light too, but I vegged mine too long and even tying them down they were too tall for my 5” height so they are being light stressed. Not helping. Despite that, mine are on week 5 of flower and seem pretty good from what I can see. I’m just hoping the buds get a little more dense over the next couple weeks.
Good luck and keep it up.
I am having a blast growing them.. Just like any new parent I am always worrying about something with them especially the light. I am growing those 4 with a 300w led and it has worked so far. Just seems like when I’m finally figuring things out then another question pops up in my mind and then back to research lol Next Sunday or Monday I will be flipping them to flower so I hope all goes well. Don’t really know why they never got tall and stayed shorter and bushy lol maybe the lights. Just started my next grow in a 5x5 tent with 600w led with 8 plants so who know hope it works out. Enough about me lol how has it been for your first grow? Hope all is well with them and hope you grow some righteous chronic lol

Here is a pic from a few days ago..
Very nice. Your ladies should fatten up a tad. Last grow - Viparspectra DS600's, 2 plants in a 2 x 4 SCROG taken a little bit more than 1 week from chop:

Both Ladies.jpg

They bulked up a bit in the final few weeks and yielded 12.6 oz. from this crop. I realize that I have 2 600 W lights that can pump out 580 watts. That's little more than the 280 watts your 2 300 Reflectors can give you.

So while not the COB quality LED's, Viparspectra LED's will give you some lovin'.

How far above the canopy are your lights?

Right now they are 18 inches away with nothing left to move. After the switch to flower the stretch brought them to 12 and I raised the lights once problems started.
The ladies are 2 x Tie Dye fem and 3x POW33 X Berry Bomb fem, but I have a hard time believing they are different at all. I can’t see it. Maybe the pistils are slightly different colour and yet they seems different within the strain?? I bought them from Caveman Seeds in Australia where I am. The seed bank they originate from is new 420Guy seeds I think, but not sure.
Thanks for the vote of confidence!

As for my first grow, I’ve pretty much stressed about every decision and tended to them like children haha but enjoying it heaps. I’ve had ups and downs. Mine got root bound before I potted them up to 30cm pots. Than I Thought I had mag deficiency. Now I’m not sure if I have potassium def or light stress but I think it’s the former. I’m using coco/soil/perlite but next time I’m thinking I will grow soil/perlite only and use slow release fertiliser from the start. Or maybe a small amount of coco to assist drainage. What medium do you use Starecase?

My next seedlings are in the prop tray now, perhaps I should have just done two in my 2x4... I germinated all 5 again... hmmm.. I do plan on using 1 as a clone mother this time though so there will only be four when I switch to flower. I have two identical tents so one will become the veg and the other, flower.

I did try 12" one time but did have some light burn at that distance. I've have them @ 18" now but have the output turned down to about 75%. I would think that with 300's, you are OK at 18"

Straight Pro-Mix HP. It's a mix of peat moss, perlite and lime (for pH buffering.)

Yeah, I would agree with that. I only grow 2. Unless you are doing a SOG, any more than 2 or 3 tends to crowd the grow area.

Personally, I do not want to manage that many plants. 2 is just fine for my liking. I find that I can weave the plants through the SCROG netting easier when there are only 2 of them. That lets me fill the grow space with a lot of potential bud sites and that gives me my best yields with my desired minimal plant management.
