Runoff ppm vary high

Now before I start I made this account just to ask this but I'm sure I'll be back. I moved to a new house that has well water I tested the PPM out of the faucet at 480 and a pH of 8.9. I always adjust my pH to around 6.5-7 and I just using promix hp. I've been having really sad plants and it's not over feeding or over/underwater the ppm I'm putting into when I feed my flower plants is around 600-800 with 2 just water in-between I always have good runoff 5-10% but my runoff ppm is 2400 the first time I checked then down to 1800 and is @ 1600 now I'm just so confused why it's so high
sorry for the rant thanks for any help

I once grew with hardwater before I got a filter. My water was about 350 PPM. I used GH Flora Series with their hard water micro and no calimagic. I had great results. When I went to the RO filter I was able to run my nutes longer in my flood and drain systems but I didn't see a big difference in yields. It does matter whats in the water, usually it's calcium, magnesium, iron that makes up the lions share but it's good to have it tested. If it is calcium then you may be able to run without calmag but use epsom salt for the magnesium.

A good RO filter is worth it's weight in gold. My water quality changes throughout the year. 170 - 260 PPM. Having a RO filter gives me peace of mind that my water is always starting at <10 PPM.

Dont read runoff as it wont work that way, runoff can be reasonably high no problems. Try find a feed schedule and just stick to that :-)
True, you typically want to see the runoff PPM higher than whats going in, that means it's preventing salt buildups. If the plants show signs of burn or lockouts then you have problems.

Most of us cannot work with runoff or we simply would, wouldnt we be best to dismiss it?

Dont roots feed from cation exchange sites and not the free liquid to a large extent which is no true representation of run off.

You would have to pass that to better growers than me as if there was a way to set up from reading runoff id be sold straight away.

Use to be a saying "Dont chase your runoff" or something which was pretty appropriate :-)
