Best seed strains for rosin ??

Looking for recommendations on seeds/breeders for the sole purpose of making rosin. Been getting poor yields for the most part, and when I do get better yields it's not the Terps profile I'm after, which is to the fruity/berry side, not overly earthy or gassy. Not lookin to set any records, but would like strains that yield at least 20% when pressing. Thanks in advance.

Your yeild is going to depend on a lot of factors, only of them is the material you're using. What pressure, temp, bag, and are you pre-shaping and pressing your product before youre submitting it for rosin production? As for a specific strain, id say go with a hashplant or a hybrid crossed with a hashplant.

All the other factors are consistent. I use a 20 ton press with 6 x 3 plates. My pre press makes a 5 x 2 puck (using a half zip), which I wrap in chemex coffee filter (I think that's 120). My usual temp is 104c/220f for 90 secs. I use 7 tonnes on that 5 x 2 puck.

I've read that purple and blue strains typically have smaller trachoma heads, that leads to lower yields for concentrate. Not sure if that's true, but it seems to be true in my experience. I was doing much better with sour og type strains, but that's not really the flavor profile I'm after.

Sounds like you are recommending Bodhi's hashplant strains? The last hashplant cross I had I didn't love the taste of that either, but that was before rosin.

Didn't see the guy recommend Bodhi's gear, just Hashplant, but you can't go wrong with Bodhi.

Here a dry shot of some Oldschool Hashplant covered in trichsuser451998_pic1961857_1563644903.jpg

I'm not sure how rosin returns are but my cut of lvtk makes some fat ass resin heads. I crossed her to my grape sato which is straight grape berry terps. I made 6 crosses with the reversed g sato and the one with my lvtk should produce some fat resin head pheno with berry terps.

I've got c99, lvtk, orange Jones (orange flavor cross), grape bubba and 2 black dogs hit by grape sato. All tested and cheap. Hit me up if interested. Here is one of the black dog crosses smelling like grape and berries.20191006_191006.jpg

I am not an expert with rosin pressing, but it sounds like you might be pressing with a bit too high of heat. As a result, you could be diminishing your terp profile and over quality, but your quantity should increase. Also, if you go with a lower heat you should be able to squish slower and longer... I squish for 3 or so minutes.

Regarding your question, Eso's reccomendation is good, lots of resin production. I would also suggest @Dr.D81 Slymeball. It's a very greasy and sticky strain that returns good amount.

I'm squishing too now & some strains are superior for sure. We had great return with homegrown OG Kush autoflower believe it or not and it didn't look very trichome laden at all. We also had killer luck with Pink Kush and Pot of Gold. I've been told that the God plant strains are great for squishing.

One thing some people are doing is over hydrating for a few hours before the squish wiuth higher RH packs--however not longer than 24 hours due to mold growth possiblities. Even just ensuring that your bud is kept at 62% humidity leading up to the squish will allow for better return. It's an exciting thing to process your own solventless concentrate isn't it?

Barneys farm too lol
The list would be far shorter on what big names I would run compared to naming all of the shite ones lols...

i got another 1 or 2 runs before I gotta dismantle and move to a new province, so I am just running clones of what I have rather then pop new ones. Next year when I get settled I intend on getting gear from you, Useful, Amos (I hope), and more from Doc, Heisen/GP and Gen. Honestly you guys are throwing down awesome stuff for a great price with quality freebies.

There are a few big name breeders that I'd put up almost any of the forum chucker's gear against their weak ass current offerings. Like seeds man, female seeds, world of seeds, cali con etc...
what about Shanti or Bodhi?
I'll bet a nickel, if Ben Donkers came back to Sensi and made them stop fucking around Sensi seeds would be back on top again.

Bodhi is solid all day long, but I've never been a fan of sensi. Back in 2003 they released jack herer for $360 usd and my buddy bought a pack. At same time I bought a $20 pack of top 44 from nirvana seeds. My keeper of top 44 blew away all the females my friend found in his jack seeds. After that I've never considered top dollar strains as anything but marketing ploy to get that money outcha.

I'm talking about 90's Sensi seeds, back when they ran with some of Nevils work. I would definitely pay top $$$ for some early Sensi stock.

I got a cut of Aurora Indica from Nirvana that is Absolutely insane. Shit is like NL#5 and keeps a smile on my face at all times. I am in San Fernando Valley and still think this shit crushes the cookies and kush's. Took a while to find this keeper though. The homie's and I call it Red Puss or 10, because it is a 10/10

I like that, I recently picked up a few nirvana strains and Aurora indica were my freebies. Stoked to hunt through them.

Sensi was tops in the world before 2000ish. All of Amsterdam is behind California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington now. They don't have the best new genetics and they can't grow outside. They're forever gone from being leaders imo. Canada should eclipse everyone in the next couple years from shear volume I'm guessing.

It's like asking for the best tasting strain ...the holy Grail exist somewhere
And then you get bored with it and cull it :D :weed:
Not really the same thing. Best tasting is a matter of opinion, I'm asking which strains yield 20ish percent (or more obv), which is not a matter of opinion.

I can only grow 4 plants, so if i grow strains that yield poorly I end up having to buy crappy commercial weed well before my next harvest. I'm not looking for any record setting returns here, just don't want to get a days supply of rising off a half zip...which seemed happen to often lately.
