Growing in soil......
Plants are 5 weeks and slow.
Swapped out an LED for CMH 315.
Thinking PH has been too high.


Just got a ph stick to measure my water and it’s 7.25. I’ve been watering seedlings not thinking about ph yet. Thought I’d worry about that later. My plants are still young - 5 weeks .
They are in 1.5 L pots and I’m assuming the soil PH is prob same as what my PH measurement was of the water. So...........
Any quick fix for the soil to lower PH ?
Will buy some PH down for my water today.

Let me ask ya something
Are you using tap/well water? Because its been my experience all those are in the range of 7 to 8ph
And ya know what every single plant thrives with plain old water in soil
I haven't checked the ph in soil in years
It isn't necessary and your concerns about the speed of your grow is normal ...everyone is impatient :hug:

I only grow in soil, and to make me feel better I do ph my water. I've read where you don't have to, but again, makes me feel better. I'm not very scientific and just use ph strips, but my well water is a little over 7. I just add a little less than 1/4 tsp of citric acid in my water, and have for years. Works well for me.

Makes me feel better to hear that! When it comes down to it, PH in soil isn’t as crucial as if I were growing hydroponics I guess right !

That's what they say. I've got a sour d going right now, and I decided to just use un ph'd water, and it started looking like shit. Coincidence, maybe, but I went back to using the citric acid and it's doing great now. Hmmmmm. It's so cheap I'm going to error to using it.

Hmmmm..... good to know. Citric acid in the water and PH comes down eh. Gonna look into it.
