Difficulty cloning using same method as ALWAYS.

It's really pretty crazy to have taken 4 separate sets of cuts and have ALL OF THEM turn to mush. It's gotta be the trips right? The door plants are just not in a good state of full vigour and health so I can't expect a clone to have what it takes to make it through the process?

Yeah, straight into Ro to chill for 5-10min, then pull a few fibers off the bottom inch or so to expose a few skits of cambium, dipped in powder, and then collared and placed in the bucket.

Lol that's your problem. No rooting powder directly on them, either in the res or none at all. This happened to me last session. I trimmed gummy stuff pushed more stem down, had roots everywhere in 7 days

Also, I definitely recommend not scraping any of the stem, you'll get more root shoots in my experience

I do know, if you dip in gel or powder, you will get jelly stems. I did and i definitely happened. I cut the jelly shit off, pushed stem under collars, 5 days i had roots everywhere

I've always put the powder on. The Aero cloner spraying on/off every 15 mins gets it off quite quickly anyways. You're saying just mix some powder In to the water and that's it?

Thrips aren’t going to give you stem rot. You do not need anything but plain water in your cloner. What temp is your water? Did you run your pump and system with bleach water for an extended period for your cleaning? Also how much bleach did you put in how much water? Do not be shy with the bleach, when I clean my system I use 2x the 120ml per gallon recommended for general cleaning. The times I’ve skimped on the bleach I’ve got rot. Also don’t scrape the stems, just gives more opening for bacteria to enter.

I had thrips on my last grow, that Montereys Spinosad took care of them in a week. Even though they are gone I still preemptively spray my plants once every couple weeks just incase. Their population exploded on me and fucked up my harvest.

I used like a couple cap fulls for maybe 10 gallons. I'm sure it's sterile. It's gotta be the thrips.
I'm doing nothing differently than I ever have in the past. My mother's are badly stunted now and I'm hot even sure they're gonna come out of it honestly. It's pretty obvious they caused some serious damage. I will avoid stem scraping from now on, see if that helps any.
I also will mix some rooting powder with some microwaved RO for a good dissolve and add it to the plain RO next time. It's just so lame this happened cause there's nothing vegging right now when they're should be. It's gonna put a hiccup in my normal production of every 2 months.

Also before this next run,I think I oughtta boil some water and submerse my collars in it for a few minutes to get them really clean.
It's almost as if the collars are too tight and are strangling the cuts but it's never happened before in all the dozens of times I've used them in the past. It's gotta be the thrips. If moms aren't growing, clones won't root.

I would suggest using tap water over RO. The small amount of chlorine/chloramine may help fight pathogens that may be adding to your cloning trouble.
Although, a healthy mother may well be your real problem.
