Possible deficiency but can't be sure ️

Hi there. This is my first post here. Sorry it's such a boring one.

This is my first time trying 60/40 and I can't be sure as what the deficiency is.

All 4 plants were transplanted a week ago now. They have been topped and I want to start lsting them now but want to narrow down this problem first.

They were fed with the canna range of nutes multi total, silicone, take root and a half feed of a and b. Then fed again with the same mix. I was expecting to feed them only water next feed but maybe this is not ideal now.

pH was 5.8

I have some cal Mag but wasn't expecting them to need that just yet?

Only one plant is as bad as this

Not sure what is wrong. The pointy down fingers normally indicate a N overdose but not with that colouring?

They are under a CFL bulb at the moment. Temps are a couple of degrees low at 21-22 lights off and rh is around 40%

Any help you guys could give would be really appreciated getting a little worried about these babies!

Yeah it's Coco and those clay balls. According to the feeding schedule you pH them as hydro. This is what the guy in my local shop recommend I tried because I was fed up with nft growing.

Yeah that's what it is. The dude in my local shop suggested I try it and so far he has been pretty good at setting me the right way so I just thought I'd give it a whirl. I mostly have only grown in soil or NFT before. Oh, and a couple of DWC grows as well.

Hopefully I haven't made a massive error

Was the coco pre charged with calmag?ph 6 is a good start.What water r u using again?

It's been 3 days between waterings. I'm guessing maybe step it up a bit? Maybe give a feed tonight instead of just a water like I was planning?

Water I am using is from my tap. I leave it for 24 hours before Mixing nutes. It is super hard.

Fed them as described above and gave them 1 liter watered around the plant themselves. pH was flashing 5.8/9

Coco wasn't precharged. I can give some calmag at anytime. Wasn't aware that was a thing.

Never plain water .Food and some calmag.Next water get some runoff collect the first oz or 2 and check its ppm.

Ok so I'll feed tonight with some calmag added. I'm thinking just 1mil per ltr should be ok?

I'll have to water them a bit more than litre if I am to get that much run off though they are in 25liter pots. Will I not drown them?

I'll check if I am getting a EC drop hopefully they just want a little.

Will go read about drain to waste now.

Those are big pots. But if there’s no calmag in there at all it needs a boost. How long have they been in those pots?

Hard water and Hydrotone, not a good mix. Calcium will screw it up. Might think RO if your tap is over 150ppm.

They really don’t look that bad for not pre charging the coco. Maybe you can just run the water/feed around the plant pour slowly so your just watering a tube right below the plant then you’ll get runoff without soaking the whole pot?Idk I don’t like up potting so big.

My tap water is higher than that. I dont have the funds for an RO system at the moment so sadly I have to make do with the old council pop

Edit: ok so it is Coco and clay balls sorry.

i have 2 foot plants in 1.5g pots. Water every 18 to 24 hrs 20% runoff every time. 150 ppm calmag about 450 ppm food.i also have hard water. 170 ppm from my tap. But I used 50/50 perlite.

Yeah I'm beginning to think I should of gone the 50/50 route but the guy swore I would like this. Now I am not to sure. Pretty locked in though now.

I have some other little plants in small pots all tied down ATM. They are my side project. Maybe I can move those into a different substrate and compare.

Water from our tap is 354 ✌

I am hoping for around 4 foot plants I guess but my real goal is an even canopy rather than some crazy arse jungle it normally turns into

I added some calmag and gave them all a feed. Here's hoping they love it so I can get on with tying them down and I can learn something about deficiency and choosing a silly substrate️
