1. the world weather patterns are clearly in flux, and we have no idea how far they're going to shift before they settle into whatever the new patterns will be, and we have no idea how long it will take to happen. but i'm betting on it not being a lot of fun, while it's going on....
2. pollinating insects are disappearing at an alarming rate, which will dramatically change what crops we're able to grow.
we're denuding huge patches of rain forest to raise more cattle...killing oxygen producing plants to raise more methane producing cattle.
the great reefs around the world are in bad shape.

3. the quality of some peoples lives are improving, usually at the cost of someone else's quality of life...someone poorer.
4. i think those are two related but separate statements...people are dying,( as the consequence of the terrible choices we've all allowed to be made, in the name of profit and expedience)....we are at the beginning of a mass extinction...not sure if we are or not. there are more than a few experts very concerned over the situation. many species are approaching extinction, and it seems to be gathering momentum....
having a high human population isn't really a good thing....
