help! Lol. First timer ccloning. I recently took a round of cuttings off of My Girl Scout cookie plant, in which were at 24 hours from The Cutting and I noticed that a handful of them look wilted and dying I guess you could say you have one or two of them that are holding themselves up but also have some signs of stress or wilt I'm not sure exactly what to call it at this point other than yes they just look wilted. Sorry for the rant I'm using clonex gel and water PH to about 6.5 but I've read after I already took my cuttings that it should have been around 5.5 25.8 for cuttings. Another issue I ran into is that the tray that I'm holding my clones in is like a plastic milk crate style almost meeting it's very porous and allows all the air to come in via the bottom of the chamber so humidity is not staying inside the Dome so I lined that tray with a plastic garbage bag and it did you justice but I got afraid that I wasn't getting enough oxygen inside the chamber and feared I was suffocating my plants. I guess to sum it up a few questions I have is one is it normal for fresh clones to wilt prior to perking themselves back up? And do you think I'll be alright considering I used a slightly higher than recommended pH water to soak my cubes in? PS I know that there was a lot of run-on sentences I have to use a talk-to-text because I'm at work at the moment hiding in a cooler seeking this advice. Put them in a glass of tap water..mug with no light hitting roots..change water every 2-3 days..cut leaves in half.. Wait 10 days or so.. I personally use a mini cloner with air stone.. No leaf cut in half needed..Google Folgers mini cloner..tap water..i have crazy roots in 10 days..

Yes. New cuttings will show a little wilt within 24 to 48 hours - this is normal.

Using 6.5 pH water is fine. I have used 7.0 pH water to pre-soak my medium (Pro Mix HP) and not had any issues. There are no roots for the first 10 - 12 so pH won't play that big of a factor since nutrient uptake is not in play just yet. The key for the first 2 weeks is high humidity in the cloning area and continually moist substrate to help generate new roots.

Don't worry about lack of air flow for the first 2 weeks. Right now, very high humidity is what you want. Keeping a minimum of 80% moisture content in their surroundings is a good thing. I'll use the tray/dome method as well and my dome vents are not opened until day 14 following cloning. 8 small shot glasses of water inside the closed dome keeps the air nicely saturated for that 2 week period.

After 14 days you can begin to introduce them to outside air and see how they react.
