The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

I wouldnt think so. KB have some eleven led strips, you can get them in various colors and theyre cheap. add a few of those, maybe even in blue or far red and with a few small drivers you have spectrum control instead of a fixed spectrum. boards from china shouldnt cost like that
Agreed! Who do they think they are?! HLG??? ;)

Good idea on the cree strips. I’ve seen some solid grows with the qb288 boards that have the epistar 660. I’m still contemplating the design of the frame so I got some time to decide on the boards. Price diff between the epistar and Cree is $45 a board. I’m still tossed between a solid sheet of 1/4” aluminum and placing boards and strips where I want them or going the Angle stock/U channel way and building the frame that way. Decisions decisions.

Theres a lot of weight in that thick plate. id try to do a design where you can use thinner eight plate which is much easier to drill, and then som alu-channels to cover the area directly behind the boards, save the screw holes, with extra alu. tip: sometimes L-channel is easier for this kinda work, avoids spaces where you can get shit but not really clean, for those bits where you have a screw.

Im not sure theres even a point in adding epistars, they are about a third less efficient than white sammies in my best calculations or guesstimate.
You could sit looking all day on ali like a kid in a sweet shop and by the time you decide something else will be out.
Fuck ain’t that the truth lol. I like the added red in the boards due to the fact that I’ll only have so much space on my frame to add strips. Keeps it all in one. The 90 cri’s would be great but they don’t seem to be an option at the moment. 6 of those in 3000k with some IR/UV strips and I’d be done.

Finding the right help at the right time is crucial in your answers. That's for sure. Wish some of these recent suggestions would have been here before I made my purchase as of late.

So much of the advice sought recently have been regarding the new "uv+ir" boards popping up everywhere on ali. Or on Bava, relatively unknown to most here or on some of these new fluenece strip areay knockoffs.
Since all of these items have been "firsts" here they are very hard to give advice regarding. Ive still noot seen a single comparison grow, or independent parmap comparing the recent boards

But basic stuff like avoid the epis, dont trust that china uses topbin crees and place your supplementation on a separate channel has been stated a fair few times. I hope your still happy with your lights. And remember that most of the knowledge around here is due to people buying to try and it didnt work out for them always. When people first started buying aliqbs we didnt know if they would burn up on us or even light up.

I’m sure those boards you bought will grow some top shelf dope. We all know the grower has most of the power. I’ve seen grows using KB boards even with the epistars that produced some crazy ass dope. Knowledge and genetics go a long way. What strain(s) are you planning to run with these boards?

Hey guys, was about to order a couple of units from kingbright. I got as far as making a payment but looks like the won’t accept credit cards? Little Leary of wire transfers. Any advice or expertise ordering from kingbright?

Do not purchase from the company directly. Only purchase through the Ali app or website. It accepts all major credit cards. This way they have to adhere to Ali’s trade assurance policy. That’s pretty shady that they’re asking for a wire transfer.

Thanks for the advice, I’m still holding off. First time trying to order.

Edit* I was using the Alibaba.com app. What’s the difference between that and the express app?

AliExpress is a more user friendly version but typically has slighter higher prices. Sometimes it’s offset by the fact that most items offer free shipping. The Ali app wouldn’t let you use a credit card?
