Indoor 600W LED - NY Sour Diesel - Manifold - Detailed & Links

10/3/19 - Germinated a handful of seeds from the inventory of seeds I collected over the years. Separated “random seeds” from what I presume are sour diesel. After two days, 9 of them had tails coming out of them. Planted them in red solo cups, in shitty Walmart organic soil while I was waiting...

Well the issue I have is the light. Its 132w which is enough to flower 2x2 maybe at a push.
Whats your dimensions on space?

Edit, might be wrong on the 132w, it says its 132w and further down says its 192w, not sure which is right.

Ah well that's a bit better, I was looking at the 600s which are only fractionally higher powered than the 300s.

Awesome! I'm thinking about adding some short of scrog tonight in preparation for flower and so I can keep them under a little better control. I believe 2-4 of the plants will still be removed once they show sex so hopefully that adds more room for the girls.

A support net would be good but you really want to weed out those males first so you know what your dealing with..
Not ideal but you can still manipulate them after stretch to fill back out whatever space you open up once males have gone.

Yeah that's what I'm banging my head against the wall for. Next time I'll be getting feminized seeds for sure. The two at the bottom of the picture seemed like it showing signs of male so I didn't even bother with LST and exposing the growth sites. Wasted effort is never fun lol. But I guess I won't truly know until the light switch.

Corey's right. There only 120-132w. It says it in the description and also in the question and answer section. Mars always advertises what the LEDs are capable of not what there actually using at wall. So you have a total of 240-264w.

Could you direct me to those articles, would like to understand this in more detail. I've never had a light issue with LEDs in the past.

There on the link you posted for Amazon. It says right at top 120w in description then lower down there is a question and answer section above reviews. Use the question and answer search feature and type in watts.

I don't think you will have operating issues with your leds more so there is much better options now then blurples performance wise when it comes to plants responce.

Interesting conversation. Looks like the grow light has 60 small LED lights, and those sixty-small light produces 300W, and it’s consuming up to 135 watts. I think the discussion is around energy savings being that it only pulls 135W from the outlet. I know LEDs are behind the curve when it comes growing but if I've done my research correctly, its mainly for the cost savings. Any feedback & opinions welcomed, would love to get to the bottom of this.

I might be wrong, just read an article that the light can only produce as much as it consumes (135W) so if thats the case I just got shafted and now have to figure out if I need more lighting for flower. Yeah you got shafted by false advertising, many have. Light no matter what source is based on wattage used(consumed) I skipped blurples but have seen nice ususally short veg plants under them and some guys pull decent yields/quality with them. One of my genetic tester tents is a 2x4, I use three HLG 120s at 65w each in it since it's just to test if anything is worth running in larger rooms. I've also used four QB 132s in in before at 280w total. Check out HLG quantum boards, I have 16 boards of there's in different configurations, they perform good.

Also in the indoor grow forum there is a sub forum just for leds if you havent visited yet.

You can grow plants with those lights (obviously), but they are basically the cheapest light you can buy. If you want bigger yields then spend more. The cheapest option is DIY. Head over to the LED sub forum under indoor growing for more info. There is no harm in continuing on with those lights but it will effect yield.

Like the mars TS 1000w light, its not a 1000 watt light, it's only 150w if you check the description. The actual consumed wattage is what matters and you want that to be at least 30 w/sq.ft of grow space for LED's. So if you have a 2x2 tent, that's 4 square feet, divided by the 240 actual watts you currently have from those two combined = 60w/sq.ft. So in this case those two should do you fine(Although i'd still be looking for HLG replacements). If however you're growing in a 4x4 for instance, that's 16sq.ft meaning those two lights would only be doing 15w/sq.ft and that is not adequate at all.

I think it's only 30w per sqft if using newer leds not blurples. Blurples need to be similar wattage as hps I'm pretty sure, so 50w per sqft to get optimal results which defeats the purpose of using LED in first place. Somebody with more LED knowledge in the LED section like @Randomblame would know.

My space is 4x2 so with that math 8*30W = 240W and from what booms said I actually have 240-264W; so in theory I should be in the clear in hitting the nail right on the head. (Given 30W/sq.ft is correct )

Edit - Just read @booms111 about 50W/sq.ft - If thats the case then I'm about another fake 300W LED away lol

Edit Edit - Now that the lights came on I went to actually measure the space the plants are using and taking up, its real only about 3x2. So hopefully being 36-60W away from the norm won't effect the yield and quality to much!

@booms111 @HolyAngel @Teag I'd like to stick with LED they've always worked well for me. Is there a brand or a site that is 100% upfront with the wattage output, would love to purchase one to either throw in the flower stage of this grow or for the next run. (I don't have a problem spending money, just guide me kind friends)
