Need help with Nutrient Reservoirs.

hey guys! commercial setup here, i have two 165 gallon reservoirs nutrient/ro water setup. the environment is c02 enriched. trying to figure out the best method of keeping the water Aerated. I know air pumps/stones, Venturi effect, vortex..etc. would love to see what you guys have worked up and give me some ideas? im at the point of just slapping in air stones and calling it good. i just want what is best! thanks!
 
I run a loop with smaller reservoirs timed every 8 hours. Good for dissolved oxygen and keeps it pretty clean without to add extra supplements/equipment. Only downsides is it needs refilling every day.

would you be able to show me an example? this is a form of venturi effect right?
 
I use 5 gallon buckets with one high and one low with the bottom feeding the top one and a drain pipe rinning back down to the lower reservoir. I am running Blumats so I borrowed this idea from the Blumat thread on icmag.

This may not be reasonable with your setup though, you obviously have a lot more plants to feed than I do.
 
Recirc pump with waterfall for aeration might be koolio. On a cycle timer.

I have the tip restricted so it 'power pisses' rather than just a weak waterfall. In a huge res I assume I might cobble a floating mini manifold of power pissers.

i had a pump in there doing a waterfall method but it was raising the temps too high. maybe i should use a smaller pump?? got a recommended pump? yes it is drain to waste in coco. putting hydroguard in for temporary measures. i know it doesnt need to be a massive pump since its just a res tank and not dwc

Have you just thought about not going through the trouble? I mean your roots are getting good oxygen in coco. Drain to waist is built on feed and aerate. It’s kind of like when people add stones to an ebb and flow Res. Why. I say just skip it. If you feel like you want to, could put a small inline pump outside the res and pump back in.

wouldnt the nutrient mix go stagnant if i didnt have some form of water movement or aeration? i know it doesnt need much however.

What reservoirs are you using? Not sure why you need to aerate a rez thats being used for dtw. All you really need is a small pump to circulate the feed in the rez to keep things mixed. If the pump is creating too much heat then put on a cycle timer.

My recirc pump is only 4watts very little heat - and currently, I run it 24/7 because it's keeping my temp around 68f.

what brand did you go with? i know water just needs to move, its not like DWC so theoretically i could just get a small pump to waterfall to the top of the res just to create movement.

this is my setup, i was reading i guess i dont need airstones because the process of feeding oxygenates the water. so you recommend a small pump just to keep the water moving? like a waterfall method basically? got a pump reocmmendation?

Then like everybody has said, I wouldn't worry about it since no dead plant material will ever touch it. I mean I don't know if I would want to mix up 165 gallons and have it sit around for months but I'm assuming it lasts you a week or two?

yea it lasts a maximum of 2 weeks. like 2 weeks in young veg phase, and like 4 days in flower lol
 
Just a simple submersible pump on the bottom, really dont need to setup a waterfall type thing, just need it to keep things mixed. The ecoplus pumps are decent, cheap but dont last more than a year, I just picked up a cheapo 400gph pump from amazon to keep in my 110gal rez.

you think that same pump would be sufficient in my 165 gallon? i really only keep 150 gallons in it? and do you notice any heat increase in your res? i know i can get up to 76 but i would like to keep it below 74 tbh. and do you keep it on 24/7? i sure appreciate your input by the way!
