Hi there, i am halfway through flower on my first grow at the moment and starting to get proactive for when the time comes in 5ish weeks give or take. Ive got a 1.5mx1.5mx2m tent(5x5 i think in feet) with 2 600w hps, temp/speed exhaust fan and a free standing osculating fan. I germed seeds last week for the idea of vegging and training them abit outside with the idea of geting 4 or 5 of the healthiest(of 8 seedlings) to try ultilize my area with a scrog style. Few questions, is 4 plants enough? How far is reccomended above pot or soil should screen be and when to install it? Im hoping to veg and train outside then depending on height in tent veg under 18/6 for a week or 2 then flip. Cheers guys few photos of this grow, few 12/12 from seed to fill in the area abit. I have read abit on scrog would just like to see someones personal input/regime etc

Yeah 4 plants is enough, gives you a nice screen of 2.5'x2.5' per plant.
If you not doing the whole thing in one tent from start to finish then build a modular scrog where each plant has its own section of net, though I would go with a solid coated wire screen rather than string or elastic. Don't go for one of those shit oversized nets they sell as scrog nets.
Aim for 2.5"-3" squares or somewhere there abouts, don't go smaller than 2.5", makes it too compact and hard work.
You should be able to find something suitable at a garden centre which is rigid, if not a semi rigid roll of net is easy to find and just needs some canes and tie wraps on the sides to keep it flat.

With a 5x5 tent I would go with 18" from pot to net, gives you just enough room to get under to trim off bs and been modular you can in the early stages lift each plant out to do under canopy maintenance.

I'd recommend doing atleast one grow doing a lot of LST before attempting a scrog. Starting early, tying and retying branches to keep them at the same level and in the positions you want. It's easier to get right and you'll learn a lot about how the plants grow and react. A scrog of that size will be a lot of work if you want to do it right and timing the scrog is hard... especially with seeds as you will not know how much they strech. With LST you can adjust things all the way through flower if needed.

Cheers thanks for that, when would you instal screen? Veg till 4 inches below screen and use stretch to fill screen?

No fill the screen in veg to around 70% then flip and fill the rest, or fill screen 100% and flip and have taller colas above screen, depends on strain, height restrictions ect.
If you want to maximise your yield with a scrog its important to scrog properly and not some 2019 version of what was once an art form. bongsmilie

Awesome cheers, yeah exactly dont want to come full flower and have tall ass colas around blocking light and restricting height. Cheers corey

Here’s a progression of growth pics from one of my current 4 plant scrog grows in a 3’ x 4’ tent for visual effect...

My set-up has only 14 inches between pots & screen, but that’s because my tents are only 6 feet tall so I really need to control height & maximize volume. Not sure what you mean by stoppers, but I also add a trellis net at this point about 16 inches above the screen to hold up the colas. I wait as long as possible to add the trellis because it really gets in the way of pruning
