Need some advice with curing

Hey Guys,

So I have been drying my buds since last sunday, (trimmed before drying and hung the whole plant upside down in grow tente)

yesterday I checked them, the smaller stems were snapping and the buds were feeling a bit dry on the outside
I decided to put them in a mason jar last night ( well in my case i have tightvac).
This morning when i woke up, there was a very nice fruity smell to the buds, however the buds seemed more humid then when I initially put them in.

Through my research, it seems my buds were not dry enough to start curing, and moste advice is to put them back on drying rack.
However I do not hve a drying rack

How can I dry my buds without damaging them?
Also my good weed smell is no longer here

PSS: I found some odd liquid in some of the buds? some orangish yellowish liquid, I read this is bud sap, is this accurate?

Deep inside the bud there can still be moisture, when you put them in a jar that moisture makes it’s way outwards to the outside of the buds. This could mean that it is not dry enough. Depending how much you have you could gently pour the jars onto a clean hard surface (maybe open a cerial box cardboard, then to pour back into jar just fold it into a funnel) and let them continue drying. A cold dark dry basement is a good place.

It is better to be too dry then to jar too soon and get mold.

Sorry, just to make it clear, you mean put my weed in a cereal box and put that cerial box in my jar?

You jarred wet weed and it killed it.

Hang trimmed bud for two weeks in an open room that gets air exchange - then they should be dry, taste great and smoke well which is at the point you can jar.

To check weed is dry simply put in a joint and smoke - if it smokes well it is dry. Still taste and flavour dont come out till the second week hang drying and so even once dry you need to leave hanging much longer like a week longer.

This is one version - the other boveda humidity early jar method is broscience to me sorry and cannot explain that rubbish

Just lay them out, on top a plain piece of cardboard or paper. If they're close to dry enough, i'd put them in a paper bag.

If I could give any advice to curing, it's only to be patient and not over think the process. All we're aiming to do, is have the bud dry enough to jar without going moldy, but still enough moisture so the buds stay intact and don't crumble too easily. Get that texture just right and your bud will get a "cure" but ultimately smoke better as well.

It is surprising sometimes, how much water the stems on large buds still hold, even when bud is dry enough to smoke. Paper bags are really useful here to even the moisture out over time. Jar too soon and you'll need to be burping them.

Be mindful of the humidity in your dry space. Too dry and you'll probably need paper bags or containers to finish them off. Too humid and your buds won't dry fast enough.
Higher than 40% and lower than 60% works pretty good for me.

The point at which you jar weed is well past the point at which weed drys since it still needs time hanging to develop flavour and taste.

Well grown bud wont overdry unless forced and thats more to do with heat and wind not humidity - the science is that it will find 'Equilibrium.Moisture Content' with your local environment. Weed is drier in hotter countries not overdry and moister in colder places but not so that it dosent smoke primo.

Few realise where taste and flavour come from when drying and the answer is time i.e. let it dry till this happens and dont just jar once dry.

You talk of sweet spots - they are all sweet spots if you simply apply patience and time for enzymatic processto do its thing.

Thanks everyone for the advice,
I spread them out on a shoe box, I squeezed one of them and there was still a very pleasent fruity smell
Perhaps I am a bit paranoid, i'm going to let them dry a few mins on the cardboard shoe box a bit and put them back to curing jar

Leave em a few days to be sure, if you cant smoke some at the least thry arent dry - simple test

Go for longer than a few minutes. Depending on your surrounding temp and humidity. Perhaps try leaving them over night.
