Disabled grower trimming issue

I am a quadriplegic and have limited hand function so I can’t really squeeze things like scissors with one hand. I have been doing a pretty good job using 2 hands to operate scissors while defoliating my 2 plants but trimming is going to be a problem. What do you guys suggest? I’ve found a few products like the bonsai and speedee electric trimmer that I should be able to modify and use using a bite switch but is there something else I should check out? I’ve also looked at the risentek x bud leaf trimmer and I can definitely turn that bud getting the buds out without help might be a problem. Any help would be appreciated!

I have major hand issues and these are something I cannot go without.
They seemed scary and dangerous but they are perfectly torqued and my clumsy ass has not had a single accident.
Very durable and both pairs of ours have triple digit use hours with no problems at all.
Maintenance is scrape with a blade when done or a quick isopropyl wipe down........best equipment purchase I have made in 40 years of trimming.

Dude thank you so much! You just saved me a bunch of money I think. Can you tell me how it operates? I noticed it says press button once for nip but then the ad cuts off. Looks like rivers hold it together so I’m not sure how hard it would be to solder in a bite switch if it’s even needed.

YouTube has several instructional videos that show it in detail.........none of which really show how awesome they actually are.
Renfro also has a easy fix.......you just rub against the grain once dry and it works fairly well but that hurts over time more than the scissors for me.
Good luck I hope you find something that you like.

Thanks Lars! I’ll definitely add that to the save for later part of my amazon cart and buy it if needed. I’m currently on my first grow ever and kinda let my 2 plants get too big vs what I wanted so now I know what to do next time. I checked out the smaller trimmers on hydrobuilder earlier in the week and that’s when I discovered the Speedee. I really like the looks of that and began emailing Speedee’s customer service and so far they’re extremely nice.
If you want, just hang or get help hanging the plants. Let them dry, then just deal with the trim when all it takes it a little nudge to knock off the tiny leaves.

No real need to trim it if it's for you, dry it and just clean up a nug as you smoke it.
That sounds like a great idea Renfro, I haven’t really looked into drying/curing techniques yet but I do think I will do mostly dry trimming so just knocking the leaves off should be easy enough.

I’ll definitely check out YouTube today and find some videos with it in action. Thanks again for sending me that information and it’s great to talk to and find another grower with hand issues like me that puts up with the bullshit of not being able to hold stuff but still grows.

Last year I was working too much to have time to trim and this thing cut the time down tremendously might be easier for you to use

You could turn the top with a drill if you cant spin the thing, just go easy with it
I 2nd a bowl trimmer, those electric scissors are a medical bill waiting to happen
Do the bowl trimmers work pretty good? I’ve watched a few videos with the risentek x but can’t find an end product video or picture to see what the bud looks like after being trimmed. I’ve been using non stick fiskar shears the past couple days to defoliate and have stabbed myself a few times so I would definitely have to be careful with the electric scissors lol.
There are also options that don't involve trimming. Fresh freeze your harvest instead of drying it and then make dry ice hash with it and press the hash into rosin. Or, as others have said, just don't trim it and break it apart as you load up bowls.
I definitely like the idea of making hash. I do plan on buying something like a Sasquatch to make rosin and would love to make carts.

They trim pretty good, not as beautiful as taking your time and hand trimming but I still like the way it turns out for how much time you have to put in. My guess is it would be difficult to get a perfect end product with the electric scissors as well.

Some really big buds you might have to cut into smaller sections before putting them in there but they still turn out nice.

Looks like this when done.
Speculation by those who have zero hands on is...........best kept to oneself.
Asking questions is awesome guessing the answer not so much.
I would just hand strip the fan leaves hang till dry then press the product into rosin and thca isolate........how I do my personal meds.

Yeah thats what I am setting up for, more more trimming. Lots of equipment costs and operation by someone with his health conditions would be difficult.

Huh I guess they work better than I imagined.
