First Grow!

Hello forums, first off I want to thank all the individuals here constantly offering valuable advise! Bless you all.

I am preparing to launch my first grow. This is what i'm working it:

Gorilla Grow 4x8 tent
2 Redwood VS fixtures (640 watt LED)
As far as inline fans go, I have been looking at AC Infinity, not sure whether 6" or 8" will do (with their carbon filter as well)
The area i'm in is pretty cold currently, low 40s at night, considering the lights, will I need additional heating?
Humidity is also low so i'll be purchasing a humidifier if anyone has suggestions for a good unit.

Growing in soil (fox farm ocean), planning on planting seed straight to soil in solo cups, followed by a 3gallon transplant or do you guys recommend solo cup to 1gallon and finish with 3 gallon? I would like to harvest within 3 months tops so keeping size small.

The tent will be in an isolated bedroom that has a window. How long shall I leave window open to help circulate air within the room and ultimately into the tent? Also is venting the old air out of the tent back into the room to keep it warm a good or bad idea?

I appreciate in advance for anyone reading my noob questions and taking the time to answer.

Regards,
Mansala

I have AC infinity as well. With your size tent the 6" will be enough, the lights should warm up your tent but if it doesn't warm it up enough then get a space heater or something, I'm running a Holmes humidifier i got from Walmart that works good. When it's time to transplant i would go from solo to 1 gal (for veg) then to 3 or 5 gal right before flipping.

I agree on the 6 in fan being enough. If the room has no central heating/cooling and it's getting down to 40 inside you need a heater. If it's just getting down to low 60s that's fine. For a humidifier I recommend the Tao Tronics Ultrasonic Humidifier from Amazon. It's on sale for $40 and has an accurate humidistat and 4L capacity tank. When it comes to transplanting I actually recommend skipping the solo cup and going with 1gals if you can. The plant will get bigger faster. The only reason not to go with a 3-5 gal immediately is waste of water and nutrients while the roots develop. As for opening your window I'd leave it open as long as you can manage your temperatures. The circulation will always be a good thing. There's nothing wrong with venting into the same room if that room is conditioned either by central heating/cooling or a window like you mentioned. The problem being that the fan output warms up the room and then the intake is using that warm air. (This is what I'm doing so I just open the window when my temp gets above 80°F.) Another problem would be co2 systems. You can't vent co2 into the same room for obvious reasons.

Thank you for the prompt responses gentlemen!

The room usually sits around around 50 degrees but outside temps are 40 at night. I would hope the warm air vent out of the tent would keep the room slightly warmer as well as maybe run a small space heater. I don't plan on running any co2 systems, I would assume leaving the window open for air exchange would be sufficient?

I'm considering now going dropping seeds straight into a 1 gal and proceeding to transplant to 3 gal prior to flipping. I would run 5 gal if I planned to let them veg longer but I plan to flip as early as possible (with more plants in the tent).

As far as water quality goes, my tap water is pretty bad, is an RO system recommended?
