Humidity levels

I am going into week 5 in veg. Indoor, in a tent using LED. My humidity is at 20-25% do you think is fine or should I raise the humidity levels?

I just started my first grow 15 years after my first try. Man things have changed! I got some quality autoseeds, they’ve germinated and are planted in their forever homes in soil. I have two things I’d like some feedback on. First is one of them (out of two), has three seed leaves and as far as I can tell, 3 true leaves. (I’ve attached a pic). I’ve seen some say it’s a blessing and some say it’s doomed to be a male or hermie. Thoughts or experiences? Second, I’m having a hard time with humidity in my 25”x25” tent. I have two 3 gallon pots that have plenty of moisture in them at around 78 degrees, sprayed a bit of water on the bottom, and even hung a moist towel from the top frame. I would think at that temp that the moisture would evaporate with the higher temp, but no matter what I do my temp and moisture are constantly inverse. What am I missing? 47640927-C632-4359-9DF3-06B0A60E41AC.jpeg

you are missing a humidifier, get that young plant off the tent floor, stick a lil table in there or something similar.

I definitely thought about that and probably will as far as humidifiers, but it’s a small area and I’ve seen posts that the common ultrasound types aren’t good for the plants because of the larger moisture particles, and I don’t want to drop a hundred bucks on a full size unit. Also, I have smart pots on roller stands, not on the floor.

I fully agree about the Amazon reviews. If you really want to lose faith in society, read the questions and answers. There’s some real gems in there.:wall:

Have you had any issues with the plants due to the low humidity? I just started a grow this week, currently 2 out of 5 popped and are shedding their seed coat. I noticed earlier that the humidity in the closet was low, around 30%. I just grabbed a small oil diffuser that my wife wasn't using and put that in there. I have the fans and exhaust off for the time being. I hooked it up to a smart timer and I'm hoping I can get it all sorted out before it becomes an issue.

Ideally you would want to raise it. Although I haven't tried to raise mine and my plants have been growing fine. Mines usually lower than 20%. My gauges are reading "LL" right now, which means below 10. I'm sure they might be happier with more humidity, but I have an exhaust fan constantly removing air from my room and sending it outside, and so its super dry in my bedroom.

Hopefully you have a diffuser with a click on style power button/switch. The one I have doesn’t, so putting on a timer doesn’t work. Thankfully it has a built in hygrometer. Works quite well after a little tinkering with the fan and vents. Also watch your watering with higher humidity.

It is the push button kind. I was at 30%, 43% now. I may leave it as is until the plants are in the dwc and see what the humidity is with the air pumps running, etc.

For seedlings you can cover them with something clear and then slowly open up whatever you are covering them with to get them used to the humidity. Seedlings enjoy a high humidity level.

I don't use a dome for any seedlings even with my super low RH. Clones, yes.
