Outside the U man. Inside woukd just trap heat. Mount on outside with 2 edges pointing straight up. Just like mounting to the bottom of the "U".What side would you mount the led inside the U or outside
Or can I get away with just letting them hang in the air mounted on angles on edges only

And if you're rubbing you're strips soft enough, you can getaway with just side mounting..what current will these be at? And what voltage are the strips so I know wattage?

I plan to run 18 parallel strings on my driver with 3 strips in series on each parallel string.
Which should get me around 10w per strip
The specs of the driver say that the voltage will automatically adjust to the requirements of the cobs I believe. It’s a bit complicated and I struggle to understand it but something along the lines of constant voltage until a certain point and then it switches to constant currentHopefully that gets you close enough to the 36v of the driver needed to work. 32.7 is close..
My thoughts are to stick the strips to the flashing with thermal tape and use a timber bat around the end of the flashing. Two timber bats with the flashing inbetween screwed together to keep the flashing in shape.I drove BXEB 560mm strips at 1400ma, on aluminum flashing for many, many moons.
Voltage never dropped more than 1%.
I had 6 of em on a 2x2 sheet. Cut it with shop scissors. Didn't even have thermal tape or anything. It's a bitch to fasten to with screws, so I moved away from it. It did the job though.
I bought the q series as I thought they were the better efficient strips. Also because they are the only strips I think I can get to work on the 36v drivers I already haveF series or no series

These are newly available strips based on the LM301B chip and available in 1, 2, and 4 foot lengths. All three lengths have the same number of chips in parallel. Low current low power but more strips per sqft and you have a very efficient powerful rig? No?
My cob setup used a similar principal. I have 4 citizen 1212 per sq ft running 15w each for 60w per sqft and over 50% efficiency

How thick is this aluminum,would you mount it on anything? I didn't see if you said you got the 1 foot versions, but i hear cookie sheets are great, I'd probably just buy aluminum flat bars like 1/8 inch thickness and cram what I could on 1 bar then space bars as neededThat’s the issue I was facing in regards to the power/heat issue.
If I run them at max around 10w each and have the strips on alluminium flashing how many strips could I put on that aluminium flashing before the heat is not dissipated fast enough?
Theoretically I could have the strips touching and have 15 strips per sq ft but that would be 150w per sqft which would be insane .
I’m aiming for 3 strips per sqft with 30w each as it’s just for mother/veg room.
Would they be ok on the flashing?
Also would you consider that high enough power for strips to be running higher above canopy
