The outlook is not bad if rates of transmission can be damped by putting up barriers to reduce transmission. So, I look forward to hearing your good posts going forward.

i wish i was a Bogan. Their nearly all millionaires. My step dads a Bogan, Loves his V8s. But being a GP he has a nice car collection. Have you watched the program Middle class Bogan? Funny stuff.

I started this thread to share updates about an outbreak that is already spreading where I live and literally every virologist and epidemiologist in the world is taking this very seriously. There's a meme thread for memes. Just because some other people who are also jerks, enjoy you being a jerk, doesn't make it cool.

My wife flew into Sydney this morning were there has been 4 confirmed cases and 160 or so being tested. It will explode in Sydney and Melbourne one would think.

Maybe not if they take it seriously and take measures to slow/stop the spread. Key word, serious.

The r0 is several times higher than h1n1, the fatality rate is a hundred times higher and it is transmissable before symptoms show, human to human, airborne and can survive for up to 5 days outside the human body. You're telling me to relax as if I haven't been in fucking contact with it or never will. You're determined to have the last word about it and make fun out of mass death. It's pretty fucking stupid.

The flue is pretty deadly. Its good we get free shots for it. Super bugs worry me.

These numbers indicate a geometric growth rate of 53% per day. This has every bit of potential to be the most staggering epidemic in a century.

The problem is, there is also good reason to believe that the People's Republic of China is under-reporting.
