Meanwhile the WHO would have us believe it's nothing to worry about. Beijing has been completely locked down for over a week. That cruiseship is a perfect macrocosm for the spread of this virus.

The Tencent leak has more credibility than the WHO numbers and we really ought to support the initiative in the house to allow Taiwan a seat on the WHO.
The money men are assuming the real numbers are 10X what is being reported, and they still think it won't cause major global supply chain disruptions past the next 2-3 months. What gives them the optimism is it is turning out to be more like a really bad flu in the numbers it killing. But there are a lot of folks in China, so even at the lower mortality rates, that is a lot of dead Chinese.

But if I was going to buy a new laptop I would go ahead and do as soon as possible.

Can't believe all the articles I've seen saying don't worry, the flu is killing more people, what the fuck.
I think their point is there is nothing we can do right now, but not travel to those places. We can combat the flu by washing our hands etc, etc. On average 36K Americans die per year from the flu.

The scary thing about this new thing is that lots of folks don't get very sick, yet they can still pass it on. That is going to make it tough for the Chinese to contain.

Russian media is playing "this is a US bio attack" on primetime. I would be interested to see how else this can be spun. What's also interesting to me is that the clampdown on info by the CCP has actually resulted in more mainland Chinese vloggers getting VPNs and speaking out. They're already living like prisoners. I would imagine this is all going to really hurt China's GNP.

I'm waiting on a few orders on Lazada (Aliexpress subsidiary) but I had the foresight to order as CoD.

I saw a article saying 90% of the factories that export in China are closed.
Kia is the only ones to announce they will be closing assembly lines due to lack of parts so far. I'm sure lots of other car companies are not far behind. But in a weird way, 45 helped with his tariffs. Several big companies had moved some production out of China to beat the tariffs.

I have been on this for over a week when people were ridiculing me or saying shit was copacetic. Slowly, people in the west are starting to see it's serious. You don't have to wait until noon to see the sun is shining. You don't need to have majored in biochemistry to know that a virus with such characteristics is to be taken seriously. But hey, the CCP coverup went on for a month, what's another month of idiotic disregard?

I'm guessing you wouldn't even think twice about eating bugs

Me, I'm a picky eater. I'll only eat cows, chicken and pig. No seafood. Only fish I'll eat is fried lake perch

I'm still waiting on an 18650 led hand-torch I ordered for about 4 bucks a week ago. Shit should never take this long to arrive.
Earlier in the week I saw on the Newshour that up to 30% of all air cargo travels in the bellies of passenger planes. Those are almost all grounded. Air freight outfits are still flying, but you know they are having a hard time keeping up.

I made a small fortune selling masks to a daigou a couple weeks ago. I'm assuming he made a large fortune, but I heard he's dead.

I had a few bites of Mullah Omar's Saint Bernard in 02. It wasn't very good so I stuck with the MREs and have held a disdain for dogeaters ever since. I don't see why anyone would want to eat that.
