ha ha miracle grow... if its all you got then use it... up until recently i had n choice but use the Wal mart hime depot brands potting soil...

but try finding fox farm, or the like.

i have used straight cow manure too.1.09 at wal mart... its mostly sand and you'll need to get some pertlite or some small pebbles to mix in it. i think the numbers are 1-1-1 for the manure

also some cheap nutes is fish emulsion... its real good for about the first 4-5 weeks of life... then you need to look into the better nutes.

the one i bought has "timed released nutes" and a good ammount of Nitrogen. they also got mg organic blood/bone meal ferts and nutes at homedepot. soil is under $5 there for the med size bag

to me this a matter of preference... people who make there own soil recipes add bat and worm shit, the palnts eat all that up in about 3 weeks or so and then they add nutes to the water they water with.

some like to leave there soils plain with no feed... so the soil is like a blank canvas and they start a feeding program usually with high dollar nutes these nutes as with many are mixed with water

for a guy with my schedule i don't have time to mix big batches of soil... so i let fox farm do it for me... i start using the fish stuff in the 2nd week 1/4 tsp per gal. i flush the plants after 5 weeks and start the plants on hydro-nutes what ever the brand this time it's that earth juice stuff... i'm still testing all the different brands that i can find to try to find the best stuff.

hydroponic nutes rule the day... they cost more but they are usually organic... and it's a piece of mind thing.

dont do that until the plants ate around 5 weeks old. then do it in very small ammounts. like 1ml per liter and then add more. flush every few weeks(flush the plants system by feeding her hella water) then start over with the nutes. i reccomend fox farms nutes grow big for vegg and tiger bloom for flowering. eventually get fox farms soil ocean mix.

start in Jiffy pucks and by the time the roots brake the pucks you can plant them into MG soil and shouldn't have a problum and don't feed your plants untill they are at least 1 month old but also start it off at 1/8 strength or 1/16 strength

in my high time meg that I bought it says that when doing a flush you should take the same amount of water to soil and slowly poor it in and wait a it and then poor the 2nd amount of water the reason doing this is so that the 1st amout of water has a chance to desolve the built up salts in teh soil and the 2nd amout is to clean it out a little better the meg calls it the Royal Flush

i use pro mix it is a soiless mix it holds just the right amount of water
it is best not to add nutes to soil
better control hand water nutes
get your self some good nutes made for mj
that cheap stuff lacks alot of elementsand you will be back asking what wrong wit my plant some tell you itis hungry feed it more
yes it will be hungry but not for stuff in cheap nute
so you will give it more nute, then you will get N burn

Use high times as a very loose guide. They throw an idea out there but if you really want it to work read a lot more about the idea. When i get nute burn and need a flush I put my plant in the shower get the water medium warm and run water slowly through it for about 20 minutes. Then I turn it up and flush it about twice with twice the amount of water as the container size.

ha ha just woke and saw how this post see sawing back and forth with matter of opinion's... man i use this site to get a general idea on my problem... if this is your first grow more than likely if you make it to budding the end results will not be the cover of hightimes... unless you went out and spent soem major dough on the real deal equiment you might gety some good buds on your first try. your first grow is your learning exprience... tinker around with different things... sprout every seed you find... use different mediums and ferts... in a nut shell, this yuor time, to exprienece the high and lows of trying to pull off a crop... this your time to observe and take notes keep a calender so you know when you did things (feeding. flushing, anything note worthy) don't invest all your time with two plants... they might turn out to be male... and thern what you have to start over 5-6 weeks down the drain... if you find something that works crazy good let us know

I dont know how many out there are growing in mirical grow but I do know from my present grow (3 plants) that I am experencing nute burn on all my plants. The only fert my babies have had is just whats in the mirical grow. I have done a wash through on each one and there still burning so now Ill be transplanting in a soil not so heavy with nutes hope this helps. I have noticed that in spite of the burn the plants are still growing.
