You've won the argument with me. I was a bit skeptical at first but the weight of evidence is on your side.

Regarding the overblown and so-called "panic" over Bernie that is trumpeted by the press: The only people who are freaking out are people who are bad with numbers. Bernie's results up to this date are not any better than in 2016, when he lost to Clinton. This time around, he's likely get a plurality but his delegate count looks to be the same as in 2016.

Been also saying that Bernie can't win in the fall. I point to the fact that Bernie can't even get a majority of mostly liberal Democrats to vote for him. If he can't even convince a majority of left-leaning Democrats to vote for him, what makes anybody think more conservative independent voters will choose to cast their votes for him in the fall? Those independent voters were the ones who turned toward Trump instead of Clinton the last time and handed Trump the wins in key states that gave Republicans the WH.

I think the panic is over concerns of what a brokered convention will look like and the bad press that will generate. Probably is a valid concern. By that time, Bernie and his Russian backers will have put Democrats at a disadvantage to Trump. Though not nearly as bad of a disadvantage as handing the nomination to Bernie. These are the facts we'll have to deal with once the primary is said and done.

Denial that Putin's and Republican propaganda are at work to support this scenario requires denial of the facts.
For this election at least you're gonna have to cope the best that you can and hope the democrats win enough of it to cause change in election and cyber security, even if NATO countries and other treaty counties have to operate behind a firewall in the future. A firewall that intercepts and disposes of foreign disinformation and protects social media and citizens. We all need a re think about how democracy should operate in the internet age and the government should set some smart people to work on coming up with a report and plan both for immediate action and a longer term strategic vision for the architecture of a future network that has security concerns built right in.

This time it's muddle through as best you can and do your best to get your country back, only then can real change happen. Hopefully Nato including Canada will be actively running interference for you with the Russians online, it would be stupid not to.

Exactly, this has to be #1. For the last 10-13 years we have been unable to even agree on what the facts are much due to the internet trolling, Fox 'news', local news stations being bought up by companies like Sinclair, and hate radio spreading lies to further their right wing bubble, and now foreign countries attacking us online creating an unlimited amount of bubbles needed to divide us even further.

Until this can be ended, there is only one Demographic in our country that wins, because they only need us to not be able to get anything advanced to come out ahead. The Wealthy White Heterosexual Male.

We just have to deal with the facts and keep pressing the issues focus on Republicans lies. I'm not ready to back restrictions on speech. To me, and if I may speak for hannimal on this, his relentless focus on facts and countering the fake shit with facts is the answer. Obviously, something more is needed but sticking to what is verifiable as true is what insulates me from the woo-woo fake shit coming from Republican propaganda mills as well as Putin's Russian government.

I don't see any help coming from anywhere outside of the US. Not from you, either, BTW. You've been kind of a pain in the ass lately. I can deal with your infantile humor, it's not a big deal. The real issue is the damage that this new tech (looking at Zuckerberg) has wrought when combined with old style propaganda. This is a US election and the US will deal with Putin's interference in it when we can. We'll figure it all out after the Democratic Convention is done.

Beware, Canada. I don't think you guys are ready for what's headed your way.

The USA has been in legislative lock down by the republicans for a decade and even the most basic things are languishing. Getting the presidency and the house will get you justice for Trump and company and presidential commissions on election security etc. Who knows, if the republicans are whittled down enough in the senate something like election security might get through, they will have a lot to account for this election and I think they are in real danger of losing the senate, even Mitch's seat might be up for grabs. I find it hard to believe that they and Trump will not be held to account by a majority of the voting public in this election for the past 4 years of disaster and fiasco.

Donald simultaneously managing a pandemic and an economic crises sends chills down my fucking spine, both would spill across the border in no time. Think Donald will fuck things up on both fronts? An economic and pandemic crises will hurt Donald's chances of re election, but it's help I'd rather not have.

It's a fine solution for an intelligent and informed fellow such as yourself, but other citizens, not so much.

It's unlikely you would see any help, it's not something that is spread around much, logic dictates this course of action and Nato is quite capable even without US participation.

I agree about shit coming our way in Canada, they will exploit social division wherever they find it or can create it, classic divide and conquer. Sorry about being a pain in the ass, I'm trying to stay clear of the Bernie wars and mostly posting commentary, cartoons and news for context. I like Bernie, but I'm not carrying his water, yet, if he passes muster with the American security community and the alumni endorse him I wouldn't have any security concerns, neither will others. I'm waiting for the delegate count at the convention and a clear winner, if it ain't Bernie, who's Bernie?

Mostly what I'm trying to do with the bad humor is inject a little levity and try to smooth over some social divisions, but mostly sit back and watch the fight. I try to remind folks that the president is not King (like Donald) and that the president may propose, but the congress will dispose, to try and calm some nerves! I'm kinda like an anti Russian troll seeking to heal social division and work against Trump. In the meantime fight for your guy or gal and I'll mostly watch, even if I've gotta wear a nomex suit to keep the flames away...

In the past I've been accused of working for George Soros too! If so where do I get paid and does senior Soros pay in gringo dollars?

You guys gotta get creative though, where's the rant about Bernie's FEMA re education camps? Are you gonna leave all the creativity up to the Russians and Republicans! Rush will roll over in his grave to rant about something like this if Bernie wins, too bad he won't be around to find out...

More bad humor.

Do Canadians even pay taxes in the US? Is that where the 30 trillion dollars will come from?
Fortunately I've got a nice fence post I'm sitting on right now, like an old buzzard waiting for the outcome of a deadly duel. I like Joe too and I'm trying to balance out the posts between moderate and liberal. I'm for anybody who wins the nomination and so are you. As for $30 trillion, you'll have to find it yourself, if required, we pay plenty of taxes in Canada, in fact a fucking blizzard is blowing outside now! I try to be entertaining, but do annoy sometimes and if I got a burr under my saddle I can debate too. This part is American business and to the extent I comment or post on it I do so openly and honestly as a Canadian, not as a sock pretending to be an American, I've had VPN software, but seldom use it, no reason.

Being Canadian I'm naturally left of center in American terms, in Canada I'm a Liberal a moderate party, the NDP is on the left of Bernie and the Tories are our version of the GOP. It's nice to see policy of left and right debated in America again, too bad we have the backdrop of Trump to color the situation and fray nerves.
