If you only use organics you can just keep reusing it, or even do no-till and not have to mess with it again except for top dressing occasionally. I've been using the same FFOF for 5-6 rounds, but now it's been turned into no-till. I couldn't imagine buying new soil every time. That would get expensive.

Dude I have switched from pro-mix so many times only to be unhappy. I used tuper for a bit, then switched back. Then I switched to canna coir and then back. Currently running Sunshine #4 and I am finally happy. Same price point though. Waste is a mofo as well.

I tried reusing dirt to limited success. Then I said fuck it and started making a pile at a mountain house of mine. Then the homies started adding to it. Now it is a 10x40X20 pile of dirt that has been under snow for at least one winter, 5 or 6 for the deep stuff.

Some friends fill their 100 gallons from the pile, some kids that trim for me use it to fill their rooms and in a pinch once I used it to fill one of mine. If it’s possible that’s the best solution.

If not, apartment garbages work in a pinch

Mix your pro mix with compost, I usually do something like 2 parts promix, 1 part commercial compost, 1 part mushroom compost. Add in your dry organic nutrients. I've ben using the same soil for about 12 yrs now, once a year I'll put it all in a kiddie pool and add in new compost/amendments. Seems to work for me... I also use sub irrigated containers and never let the soil get dry, even when not in use. I also have extra containers so soil can 'rest' between cycles.
