Dense buds??

Hopefully not, sounds like decent conditions. I just consider it best practice to watch any plant that has big thick buds.

So I 100% agree with the first 2 responses here.

Chopping early is one of the mistakes, if not the number 1 mistake I see growers make regularly and repeatedly. Sadly it’s not even just new growers that do it either. It takes us all time to learn how these plants grow and mature. It took me a few grows before I was putting the dots together. Now I try to help new growers avoid this common mistake.

I’m on my phone so I can’t post it right now but I have a little maturity guide that I regularly share in here with growers trying to understand the plants full maturation process. (Maybe one of the members that knows will copy and paste it for us).

Chopping plants early will totally reduce bud density, weight, terpenoids, and overall quality. New growers are always worried about letting plants go “too long” and them degrading. But they don’t realize chopping early is exponentially worse for bud quality. You would have to leave a plant a crazy amount of time PAST it’s actual maturity point for it to get ruined, so long that in 14 years I’ve NEVER seen someone accidentally do it.
can you show us the maturity guide ???

There is no reason to flush a properly grown plant ever.Feed it to the end just back off a little for the last week or 2.
They need lots of P and K late, don’t even look at trichs until your pistils go red/orange/brown, and curl back into the calix. Now check trichs on top buds then middle and lowers. Everyone varies here a bit but I take them when there are more amber than few clear and the balance dense cloudy. Most Sativa crosses will go into 10th week. dense buds are also made in the cure. I hate dispensary 5% humidity lava rocks. I want a bud that’s firm like styrofoam and bounces back to a little squeeze stable at 60% RO in the jars. That takes another two weeks after chop before you partake if you want it smelly, tasty top shelf smoke. Thad a Post for another day or you can search ‘perfect cure’.

On day 45 of flower any tips on how to get dense buds up towards the end ?? I always produce less dense buds with not alot of smell to the bud
Lollipoping will remove the crappy lower bud sites and the tops become more dense. They get better light and air circulation.

And then I would say the perfect level of nutes the whole way through.

People getting rock solid buds have probably selected the best cuttings from a load of seeds that they previously grown and then grown the same cuttings over and over to get the cycle correct.

I ate my words here because this bud is amazing ! 200g of the one rock hard sticky bud feels like candy floss smells like lemon CIF

Ok guys I finally remembered to grab the harvesting info I was talking about. I put this together and share it with new growers to help people get a grasp on how to read the signs the plants are providing.

The first sign of maturity is for about 90% of the stigma to turn reddish and shrink, until that happens just keep your plant healthy and sit back and relax it’s still growing.

After the stigma shrink the plant still needs to swell and finish ripening. That typically takes another 2-3 weeks. During that time the plant will appear to have stopped most outward growth, but is actually still packing on weight internally and causing the bracts to fatten up. It can easily increase by 20% in yield during this stage.

Finally during the end of that period you can check the trichomes ON THE BUDS, not leaves. It’s good to look for the average ripeness of the whole plant not just the top most bud.

There are plenty of variables that can alter time periods, but for the most part cannabis plants follow pretty consistent patterns of growth and ripening.

It is VERY EASY to harvest a plant too early and loose out on flavor, smell, yield, and overall quality.

It is VERY HARD to harvest too late. I have never seen someone accidentally over ripen a plant, it would take weeks of ignoring your plant for that to happen.

Congrats on a nice harvest.

next time keep an eye out for balls or male flowers!!

These pics mean there was some male pollen so whether in or near your grow. EC894B44-AEA2-473E-9C4E-5F7AD5FDF649.jpeg46E4CEAC-4C49-4970-BB32-99D860BFEE46.jpeg

I pulled it off something fierce tbh.

I let it go so long the buds began to dry out on the plant with a full pot of water.

It wasn't as much of an accident as a let's see how long I can keep this alive for.

Turns out 18 weeks in flower was the answer :D
