Also I have learnt that if you take the lighting to the extreme and pump in 2000 - 3000w etc then you cna pretty much kill your plant as it's getting bombarded with so much light it just goes weird and eventually dies! This I do know as my mate tried it rather nievly, and what a disaster!!!

Newbie Q: Help my plant is on fire!!!

Answer: Inhale deeply... :joint: hold, exhale and again... :joint: and again... :joint: ...

(note: this is a joke and in no way has any resemblance to reality apart from the fact that it or something like it is your field of view, therefore what ever value or meaning you choose to place on it is entirly subjective. so please don't try this at home)

All depends on what you need from your op. CFL produces very different, lower intensity light than HPS and produces different plant growth characteristics.

If you need low heat output, don't need a lot of buds and can sacrifice bud density, CFLs are suitable for your flowering op.

If you gotta have a greater quantity of buds per crop with much more solid density, HPS is your choice.

Small HPS lights, in the 60-75-100-150W area should be given serious consideration for flowering in micro ops. No, you can't get them at the grocery store... but they are available in most bigger hardware stores as security lighting.

Flourescents don't deliver SHIT when it comes to vegging and flowering. Mostly good for seedlings. CFLs and HIDs are where its at when flowering. Just do your best to get a decent mixture of blue and red bulbs. What I would probably do, is since you're using the 600w sodium, I would get all blue CFLs and just cover the other side of the spectrum with those.

I have uploaded some pics to show you all my grow! I have a 600w above the main canopy and a 200w CFL below the canopy. I'm currently in two minds as to wether have the CFL below the main canopy or above with the HPS. I think if it's above then the light wil just get absorbed by the HPS but still not sure!! Enjoy the pics and feedback would be great

cheers
