Again, too early to tell. We immediately refinanced everything so that was huge. But as I said in the very first posts, this is another shift of monies to the 1%. But yeah, I’m going to be ok, my family is going to be ok. We don’t fear for our financial future but we’ve obviously lost a lot. Like a decade of hard work wiped out. My real stress is from worrying about keeping my employees employed and dealing with idiots who think their broken oven is an emergency when their stove top still works. Residents want us to start policing laundry rooms because some idiot was coughing while doing a load etc.
There is something to that (coughing in the laundry room) because that shit stays around on hard surfaces for up to 17 days.

But I am glad that you and your family will be able to be safe and financially secure during this pandemic. I wish your workers the best too, this shit is dangerous and is a serious risk for people the more they come in contact with others.

But I would also say that you might end up in a very nice position once this pandemic starts to retreat to take advantage of the loans and need of banks to start getting capital lent out super cheaply since you have the equity to take advantage of.

Sure it is not as great as it could be if you got exactly what you were expecting and then used that excess to take advantage of so many peoples suffering, but it doesn't mean you won't (relatively) be able to come out well ahead after this crisis ends.

I was living in an apartment where someone hacked up a luggie and deposited at the front door of the laundry room..then there was a guy who insisted on folding his laundry while talking on the phone this was two weeks ago. i don't live there anymore.

We well I depend on that excess for the other things I do like a homeless shelter that houses 6 families. Not like I’m sitting on golden toilet

It is all a matter of perspective. I wouldn't want to dismiss the great deed that is by pointing out that it is likely a very nice tax break.

I would rather be in your position than someone who just lost their public facing job and has a family to provide for without any understanding of what they will be able to do when this is all over.

No, I’ll able to defer mortgage payments and there is assistance in form of payroll support
And the rich get richer. Boy that trump really helped guys like this out. He can defer his payments but those people asking him to defer they are SCUM!

Thank god he can afford to buy more cheap housing and not replace their oven when it goes out because they still have their stove top. Glad I don’t live there.

Maybe read what I actually said, I talked about people with fixed incomes such as as or ssdi who are asking for rent forgiveness when they don’t need it. And I am glad you don’t live at one of my properties as well.

You don’t know what someone else needs or what they are going through. You’re clueless and another reason you’re in this predicament.

No actually I know exactly what they need because we have to check all their income/assets/expenses to determine if they are qualified to live in these places and if they have rental assistance to determine their rent. So when Joe calls me up and says, "I lost my job at the pizza place," I lower his rent to zero (Joe actually gets a check back for $100 to help pay his utilities and zero rent because he lost his income) and when Judy calls me up and says, "I need a break because of the Virus," I know she is full of shit because she is collecting disability and has been for years. And what predicament do you think I am in? lol. Seems you are the one who no clueless.

Just read over on Yahoo horror stories of people being evicted by landlords, not even sure how they are trying to do that. Here the courts are closed and we are not even allowed to serve people with papers. These decisions were made 2 weeks ago. But I can understand, a lot of these guys are small owners who barely make it by anyway. Not sure what % of the units small owners represent but that's a real problem. Small guys with 1 or 2 income properties are being asked to make real sacrifices with no guarantees yet.

Sure pal sure.

you’re in a predicament you set up for yourself knowing the risks rewards. Those people have been determined by the government they are too disabled to work. They didn’t choose to become disabled. You’re a moron and I can’t believe you have the nerve to compare your situation with theirs.

just shows how out of touch with reality and your customers you really are.

So now I am responsible to help out not only my residents but their extended family as well? You don't have to answer me, but let me ask you, did you develop any of your properties or just inherit them? Trust fund baby?

10 million and growing newly unemployed won’t be seeing any relief for weeks and you’re crying about rent checks.

I am not comparing my situation to theirs. That would be stupid. Look guy, you stopped thinking awhile ago it appears, dare to reread what I have said and find me where I have said anything comparing my situation to theirs. I have said, and this will be the 4th time, I don't like this situation because its a money shift to the rich. Again, I think people who can pay should pay. I am fortunate because most of my properties are rented by hospitals and other essential businesses and even pot growers for my warehouses. My risk is low.

Here’s your first post

This is B.S. I have little pieces of shit who live off of their disability while faking it demanding they should get free rent like they are losing their SS check. If the government didn't open their idiot mouths we would have handled it with care and compassion, but no they have to go on the news and talk about not evicting people.

If they are faking it and you know that and you continue to rent them. you are just helping them scam the government. So because the government mentioned not paying monthly rent payment you’re no longer using care and compassion?

So your solution is to evict people on disability struggling to pay their bills? You sound SO compassionate.
