Trichocereus pachanoi, aka "San Pedro"

I recently had a San pedro trip that was just awesome! I found myself in the woods looking at all the beautiful colors and patterns of nature. I was wondering if anyone here has tried it, or it's cousin T. peruvianus? I hear that T. peruvianus is stronger. Is this true?

i can only say that i have heard that t. peruvianus is approximately 10x stronger than pachanoi... with a 2 by 6 centimeter strip of skin representing a good dosage.

I am also interested in these cactus trips.
Can you tell me about the comedowns and if there are any noticeable bad after effects please:weed:

I had no after effects. There is a very smooth transition into and out of the high. Just when you think it doesn't work it hits you.( takes about a half hour to kick) I smoked a couple bowls to stay in the right state of mind. It's some of the most horrid tasting stuff on the planet tho! You have to make sure not to eat anything too heavy or any meat the day you trip! It contains alkaloids that may effect your stomach. Erowid Psychoactive Cacti (Trichocereus pachanoi & T. peruvianus) Vault has lots of info on this. I suggest going out in nature, it's pretty interesting!

nah man you need to eat a two foot piece for a proper dose, the amount of mescaline in each plant varies wildly. they two species are about te same in potency as well.

shroomery.org has everything youd need to know about tripping on anything

It was at a local trance party called EARTH DANCE and a stall was selling it as a tea, wich was just the liquid warmed up and less thick so its drinkable and i had a cup of it ;)
its great stuff bt i much prefer shrooms, just sumthing about chomping
away on a multi colord fungus

I had about 6in(15.24cm)per person . I was with some friends and we cooked it out in the woods. Preparation is key i think, it takes 4-8 hours to finish!! Boiling off and adding more water. It is worth the wait when you do it right! Go to erowid.org and try the shamans recipe!

yeah you dont just eat the cactus.they say a foot worth of cactus is needed for a regualar dose or trip. and yes the extraction method takes like 8 hours to do it right and more or less depending on how little you want to drink.....in the process of getting sme mailed to me to try myself.very interested in it!

Pedro is great. I do it with some regularity. I recommend the method @erowid by M.J. shroomer, but I recommend adding the juice of one lemon per pound of cacti flesh. THe alkaloids don't get extracted as well if you don't. I also use purified water (reverse osmosis or distilled) for ph reasons as well. Personally 1-3 pounds per person seems about perfect.:blsmoke:
:peace:
