My plants are on 18/6 light schedule right now and they’re going outdoors around may first, I totally forgot about the fact that the light schedules will be a lot different. It’ll be going from 18/6 to 15/9. If I gradually change lighting by a half hour each day to finally match 15/9 on may first will they start to bud?
Please help thanks!

I plant week 2 or 3 of May. My starters are raised under 15/9 from rooting. Cut back 1 hour a day. Your lights have nothing on the sun. Hold at 15.5 if detail oriented. You'll be fine.

So right now my lights go on at 6AM and Turn off at 12AM >18/6
The outdoor sunrise is 5:30AM & sundown 7:30PM > 15/9

how will holding at 15.5 make any sense lol appreciate the feedback just trying to make sure

In an absolute attempt to simply this. Plants experiencing sudden loss of hours of light will flower or stress.

When I first cut my lights back I do it to 2 hours 22/2
Then after that I decrease half an hour each week til I get to as close to 16 as possible. Had great luck doing this with no issues.

I was fine in the past bringing them from 18/6 inside to outside around June. Or at least I thought I was; i didnt see any preflowering and if there was, it would just reveg right? Id be more afraid of inducing flowering indoors by accident

My indoor seedlings start at 18/6 and I slowly reduce by an hour every few days until 15/9. No problems with pre-flowering.
