12/12 from flowering clone

Hi guys this question is more for the 12/12 growers. I have grown from seed to 12/12 and was able to pull an ounce and the plant grew 18inch I was pleased. Now I'm trying a few clones I have to 12/12. So I take the cutting 2 weeks into flowering stage they have pistol hairs on the clones. Then I put the clones in my water bubbler and in 2 weeks I have a good amount of root. Then I put the clone in soil in a solo cup and have it under 12/12. From what I see so far my 4" clone is about 6 inches now and flowering hard. Should I flip it back to veg for a week before I put it straight to 12/12? Any advice greatly appreciated as I dont want to grow a small nug would like an ounce atleast.

Thank you.

I don’t grow 12/12 from seed often but I have, and for the last 10 years I ran a perpetual SOG garden with many clones in 6 inch pots.

I would take the clones before you flip the other plant to flower. Then give it about a week maybe 2 of veg once it is transplanted to develop a root system, then into 12/12. I typically put 7-8 inch tall clones into flower and they finished about 20-30 inches and between 16-30 grams depending on the strain.

Thank you, could it be that when I put the clones in my water bubbler to root that its sitting on my window sill and maybe not receiving 18hr of light?. I'm wondering if I do put my clone bubbler under 18hr controlled lighting then root for 2 weeks then straight to 12/12 would that work and I would be eliminating the veg step after I clone?

I think the most important thing to eliminating the veg step would be taking clones while the plants are still in veg and not 2 weeks after you switch the lights and they already started to flower. That will slow down the clones growth if it has to reveg.

You can definitely go straight into 12/12, and if the clones aren’t trying to reveg they might get big enough in the bubbler. I have found my best results with atleast a short veg though. It gives the roots a chance to settle into their final grow space and the plant to “relax” before flipping it.

Thanks man, my problem is when I'm doing 12/12 from seed, to cut a descent size side growth the plant would be in flowering mode :(. That is why im wondering if I should put the clones in the bubbler under 20/4 lighting then in 2 weeks would have a strong root system, then put in soil under 12/12 skipping the reveg stage. Would this work too?

Yep agree I did this with a fruity chronic juice strain.

took clones during veg.

once everything was rooted I flipped. Plants stayed under 18” tall and had approx 20-30g on each SOG type plant.

Why would you grow a seed on 1212... the plant isnt mature enough to grow decent bud

myself and @Thundercat were advising against taking clones under 12/12 to try and root then during the 12/12 cycle.
just would like to say if u take the clones 14-18 days past flip your good that's what I have seen from my monstercrop cuts. all the ones I took after day 20 just weren't good so its more on when u take them.

Can you root them and flower them during the same 12/12 cycle of plants that you cut them from?

ohhh I thought u were going to root them in a veg tent then once rooted you would throw them into flower sorry pretty high but I get what u mean you can do it but its not really worth it at that point.

That's what I been doing then vegging and I would have the monster crop. What I'm saying is when I dont veg and go straight 12/12 its staying in flower and just budding. Wanted to know if I should be putting my bubbler under 20/4 light then when I have a good root system I plant and put into 12/12 will it continue to veg at this point before flowering? Has anyone tried?

I think we’re all getting confused. OP now sounds like he does have a veg area??

god I have a run of like 9 clones in my cloner and they were taken on the 30th of last month so they are more than ready to go into soil which I need to do but Im waiting on soil coming very soon hopefully its in Arizona right now so yea. But in that situation if its reverted back to veg cycle I would give it a week more to give it time to really build vigor then throw her in 12/12 but I wouldn't do it all in a bubbler. once their rooted get them in soil when u can. ok so we can set this straight what exactly are u working with op?

Got ya so I should be putting them into veg atleast 1 week I just built a little veg box so I'll go from clone to 1 week veg then 12/12

I used to have veg area but I switched to save money doing 12/12 from seed.
I personally don't like 12/12 from seed, vegging plants dont need much power at all I use a strip build I run it 120 watts and it covers around 3x4 feet pretty well.
but if u really wanna do it the easy way go with a small 2ft t5 or build a little strip light if u have the tools but if not go t5, I don't know how many plants you wanna grow that's the thing

this works good it just gives them more time to flip back into veg so they get just a bit bigger helps them develop their system very well. I really like my t5s but ever since I went diy I've been blessed
