When to Harvest: help a noob

Hello, I have 4 plants that have been grown from purple urkle bag seeds. Today (thursday 4/23) is the second day of the 7th week (from 12-12 switch). I have attached some pictures of the main colas of each plant, and I just wanted to know what you guys think about when I should harvest? I have a jeweler’s loupe (30x and 60x magnification) but I really can’t tell whether the trichomes have become milky. Thank you!

Welcome, and they look nice!!

They are close, but I'd say another 2 weeks probably, at least 1. Cut a small bud off and give it a sample!! I just bought a $20 1000x digital microscope on Amazon that makes viewing easy...plugs into your phone or tablet. I always struggled with a jeweler’s loupe too!

I don't know how to like each individual comment, but thank you all so much! I really appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, the latest I'll be able to harvest is May 8th or 9th, which would be the middle of the 9th week since the 12-12 switch. I'm a senior in college and will be moving out mid-May so need to finish harvesting and drying before then.

Update, everyone: this morning I cut off the lowest bud on one of the secondary/lower branches. I then used a plate on top of a pot of boiling water to quick-dry it. Just smoked it. Was around .5 grams worth. I'm pretty medicated considering I have such a high tolerance (smoke around 5 Gs a day). Wasn't dense at all, but I'm hoping that the plant will get denser as it ripens over the next couple weeks. The picture below is about halfway through the drying process.

5gs a day? Damnnnn .... I usually do 1.5 to 2 but now on quarantine I’m up to 3 . mine tend to get really dense after a good month cure . They almost shrink to half there’s size in the jars

I also tried your method of drying the sample over boiling water once. Does the trick, surely better than oven or anything but it's never as good as some left alone overnight-dried bud. So it will probably smoke way better once ready. Ayyy

@323cheezy oh so the cure is what causes the density? I see, ill likely only get an Oz from each plant then, if im lucky. and yeah man, i got into the habit of smoking blunts so i usually roll one up every couple hours

@Rhada This bud kinda blows my mind. Got me high but smells nothing like weed at all. Not even a hint of it. Just a lettuce-like smell. Hoping once its ready and has been cured properly, itll smell better

oh so the cure is what causes the density?
Not sure of this "fact". I jar mine under 65% humidity and remove them from the jars every couple days till the jars stay around 60. No noticeable difference in density and the jars are just as full as when they were first filled.

Geez those are pretty buds. I used to have a poster of Purple Erkle on my wall. I can't believe I haven't grown any yet. I'd say you have about 2 more weeks.

Curing doesn’t lead to density lol
Density varies on genetics but you wanna make sure and get a full growth cycle to make sure they are dense enuff to be pleasurable.

All I was saying that I noticed after a couple months in jars they willrock up more . More compact and tight..t he denseness won’t change.

Update. May 1st is day 3 of the 8th week. Any input on when I should harvest based on these updated pictures?
