Guidance requested on evaluating this male

Not sure how advanced this is, but wasn't sure where else to post.

I have a male C99xBB that I'm flowering out with thoughts of stabilizing this cross. I flipped this clone as soon as it was rooted and now, after 15 days, it is showing what to me as a novice chucker, is strange behaviour.

The majority of the pollen sacks are still tiny and developing but there are numerous big, fat, mature balls that have already opened up and dropped pollen. Is this common? Fifteen days seems really fast. Shortened flowering time is not a goal of mine, so I'm wondering if maybe I should just cull this plant and look for a more stable male to work with, one that matures more evenly.

Does anyone have any relevant experience that might provide some guidance? Much appreciation for any help.

Your plant will drop pollen for a couple of weeks. It totally normal. Males flower differently. If you want to breed for short or longer flower times, you need to grow out several different male from that cross and pick the one that matches up closest to the female in question.

Thank you. I've only been making seeds for a year or so, still lots to learn.

I've generally started collecting pollen around days 21-25, so day 15 seemed quite early to be seeing opened pods. I'll let him finish and add to the collection.

I'll have a few at a time and store it separate. Might use it for a different lady or even the same to see how much different it can be.

It's an F1 of two parents with quite different finishing times so I expect some variance in that regard. Each are favorites of mine that I know fairly well, so I'm looking forward to exploring the different genetic expressions of the offspring.

This hobby keeps going and going. So much to grok.

(edit: reread your post and realized we may each have misunderstood. I meant adding this container of pollen to the other containers in the vault, as opposed to dumping it in with other pollen from this cross. I may get to big open pollinations at some point, but not there yet. :) )

I don't open pollinate........but different branches on a female can have different pollen. I keep a small beer fridge with different pollen in it.
