If your growing in a tent, boards are still great for throwing light all over the place due to the reflective walls. If growing in an open space then I would definitely recommend strips.

It is a tent mate, boards have to be a fair bit higher than strips ye? I see the new HLG QB648 are recommend height of 30".. Thats well into my carbon filters territory.

No not if you dim it down. But even then, you can get really close.
yeah true, I guess a good par meter would be handy for finding the ideal height and amount to dim, strike a good balance.

.. I could also just go with 2x new hlg 648 boards and put them on a 3 board wide heatsink for nice spread... it may actually work better if I’m just always doing 2 plants as they will effectively have 1 light each and not the falling off from centre par on the strips..

The mega plus looks a real nice solid build doesn’t it? All that chunky aluminium. It’s $399 shipped for the 330w.. unless they add more shipping to that.. says free shipping though.

Meijiu has upped their game by upping diode count.
300+ per bar.
I’m curious on the diode count on a hortibloom fixture.
Meijiu has 2400+ on a 650 watt fixture on 8 bars.
Hortibloom has ? On a 650 watt fixture on 8 bars.
I’m guessing ?2000 diodes.
Hortibloom looks fancy though.

If it's 400 dollars for 330watts then Fuck all that shit. If you're not paying LESS than a dollar per watt through Alibaba, then don't bother.

Don’t have many options mate, that’s just the current prices, would be about the same price for a triple heatsink with 2 hlg 648 and Meanwell driver. No fear of customs charges with the hlg though.. think the 2 x hlg is about 260w.
I notice on the hortibloom advert they say at request they can add Osram leds and put in ir and uv..
would you guys go for the ir and uv?
