I just recently stood up my grow tent and am now slowly buying piece by piece.

Are these hydro setups easy to maintain, and do they work well?

Next question is lighting, I'd love to use LED lights and it looks like I can get great deals on sites like https://www.alibaba.com/ . Are the lights on there legit? I know the lights are from China anyways but are they a knock of of the already Chinese made lights? Or is that the way to go?

Any help is greatly appreciated, very excited.

The answer to your first question is they work very well with little to no maintenance. You have to be wary of the switches that control your pumps though they seem to go out quickly.

Some people have had good luck with lights from Alibaba while others don't. IMO, it's a gamble. If you don't want to spend the cash on better known name brands that come with good support and warranties, then I would look into building your own. There are a lot of good DIY build threads in the LED Section.

these guys are the best, great customer service, great products and super high quality stuff. they really put some research into these boards as opposed to just slapping some Samsung LED's on a meanwell driver and callin it good

What makes that post even sillier is that that person was just asking for opinions on lights 3 weeks ago and just ordered that light last week. That seems like a pretty bold statement when they haven't received the lights or had to actually deal with customer service with any actual issues.

i got the light in 9 days after ordering it 3 weeks ago tyvm and ive had extremly great results with it thanks for asking!

from what i read up on all these boards they are using high quality osrom and oslon leds to pair with thier 301h's aswell as meanwell drivers. now i understand that most chinese knock offs are doing this but these guys are putting dimmers for each light spectrum on and also making a few different light setups to meet your individual needs (more uv more ir w.e it may be). the customer service is absolutely amazing as i talked with alwen about the shipment issues with covid a few times and was always responded to promptly. as for research just search bava on this board and look at how many people are either getting amazing results or are complimenting the boards. i never said i was a pro at growing weed i just said bava had good lights. thanks have a good one

You said you ordered it 3 weeks ago, it arrived in 9 days, and you've had extremely great results with it. That would lead me to believe you've been running the lights in your tent for close to two weeks. But just 5 days ago you said you just ordered the lights and planned on running them after week 8 when you switch to flower. So, which is it?

Ok, so we've at least narrowed it down from "Super high quality" to "it's better than my blurples". This is why @bk78 asked you about the research that was put into the lights. It's just not right to pump up a product the way you did to someone looking for new lights when you literally know very little about them.

No problem, man. I just hate to see people recommend lights when they don't know much about them. It's one of the reasons I always recommend known high quality lights, or DIY, to those who are looking for new lights. I don't know enough about all the Chinese brands and buying many of them can be a gamble.

i completely understand and i needed to be stoped in my tracks to learn something aswell i aprreciate it
