Changing Res Advice

Good looks! I was surprised at how expensive hydro guard is but that will help I ran through almost my whole bottle so far on this run
Hydroguard is like 98% water and the SAG GFF is like 98% bacteria. The GFF is a much much much better product than hydroguard unless you like expensive water.

I wish they sold gh 3part/calimagic in powders for a lot less
i've been thinking about getting some Cutting Edge Plant Amp. it's just for the Ca. and stick with Epsom for Mg. i'd like to see about fixing each problem with it's own "fix" vs cal/mg if you don't need both.

Well with RO you always need em both. That's why jacks sells calnit and you use Epsom's with it.

i'm on well so i don't need both at the same time (usually) but this last grow i had 3 finicky bitches with the Ca and i would have liked to fix the Ca by itself.

check out my thread in Nutrients. I am looking at and have contacted JR Peters about their new formula Tap . 15-5-20. versus the Jacks 321

i guess it's all relative. you get a load of weed for not much money in the end so the price of nutes isnt' too bad overall.

Very true, like airwalker said it would be legit if you could get all in powder's and mix. That's what is drawing me to the FloraFlex line.

i tried to help this dude last nite. check out his thread and the roots he has going. he apparently didn't care for my advice about using AN organics in WF's.
Actually, you didn't try to help me much at all. You pointed out the issues I already knew about that is why I joined this forum and the only thing you told me to do was change my nutes because you don't like AN. I was not about to throw out $700 of GREAT food because you don't like it. Guess what? It had NOTHING to do with the nutes, it was my dripper, and I fixed it.

Your hate for AN is interfering with your ability to help people. I don't even think you wanted to help, you were just hating on AN. Listening to you would have gotten me nowhere other than feeding my plant food I have tried before and did not like, and make me dump my favorite plant food, $700 of it lol. How is that good advice? You didn't even try to figure out what is happening. So many people hate AN but not me. I love this stuff, I grew with the same setup 10 years ago after trying many nutes including GH. 10 years is a long time and I forgot what I learned back then. I forgot to wash my hydroton, I forgot to drill holes, things I ran into 10 years ago and forgot.

Here is the plant now. Compare it to the first post yesterday and tell me again how my nutes suck. lol. I told you I appreciate you trying to help but I was confident it had nothing to do with my nutes and that offended you. I ended up buying a RO system and a Chiller and I apparently did not even need those but I am keeping them and using them. Also my roots did a huge recovery. My roots are not hanging out because I did not drill out the holes bigger and the dripper not working right has the roots probably all in the top bucket dying to get the few drops of water. Ill go take a pic now and attach it too.

@cob You can plumb them. I never did yet but you can get it in an 8 bucket kit with a res, and a recirculating upgrade. I am just going to drill holes in the res and put the same size bucket outside the tent with an extra 2 gallons (each water farm also holds 2 gallons), the thing is I will have 2 or 3 water farms after this test run, I want to know if I should aim for a bigger res. It would be nice if there was an optimal amount of gallons per plant.

@rkymtnman I am sorry you were upset, I wish we can start over.

$700 and nutes in the same sentence... "shudder"
Yeah I know. I was not happy paying it either. I was not happy paying 500 for a chiller, or 200 for an RO system either. I paid 400 for a tiny AC to fit in there because my LED is hotter than I thought. I have to drill holes in my wall for its vents to vent into my bathroom and suck air in from my bedroom for the AC cool its condenser and throw the heat out of my grow tent and room. If they avoid me issues they are worth it right? When I first used AN about 15 years ago I had a waterfarm in a tiny area, with a 400 or 600 HPS I can't remember. I started with the GH food included, and tried a few of their products from the hydro store. I tried another brand I can't even remember what it was and I had problems. Hydro store guy gave me some Iguana juice and voodoo juice to try. I am telling you it was like magic. My roots suddenly started getting THICK and growing all over, the plant started growing like it was on crack. The more products I tried the more magic happened. It is crazy. My harvest was insane compared to anything I did before. I was sold. Wife got preggo and I stopped. My kid is 10 years old and I live in a big house now. My bedroom has a bathroom, and that bathroom has a decent sized walk in closet. I said screw it and I put up a tent and I have a much better setup now, I have an SF-4000 light that should be better than my light before with less heat, bigger room.

So I went nuts and got the complete line of AN. You have to consider I only ran 1 bucket, the most I will ever run is 4 which is the legal limit here. I can see myself with 3 buckets in there, that is 6 gallons, and an extra 2 in res, that is only 8 gallons. The bottles will last a year at least! I am also going to try changing 1/2 the water a week. so we are down to 4 gallons a week if that works. My alternative is mix and match all these foods and recipes from everywhere, and everyone has a different opinion, it is a nightmare of research where as I can just buy AN product line, and they have done all the research for me. If you point me to a line of food that is ready to go just like AN with just as good results I am all ears! GH is not one of them, I already tried unless i will have to add products from everywhere, but I did try their line, I have nothing against it but AN is by far better from my personal experience.

EDIT this is CAD too, and tax. Probably 1/2 the price if it was US.

Next time get gallons of GH Flora Trio and CaliMAgic or Jacks, calcium nitrate, and Epsom salts. Literally 1/5th the cost. AN is a scam and a half

I know results may vary between people, but when I used the GH flora trio and a few of their extra products and I felt like AN grew faster, looked healthier and tasted better. It may be all in my head or due to other variables. I did like GH, I have nothing bad to say about it but it did look like AN was just the better. I started this plant off with GH trio and you can see the difference in the leaves. I don't know which one is actually a better leaf but to me the AN grown leaves look better. I have attached the pics of a leaf with GH and with AN on the same exact plant and setup going through the same wild ride, maybe you can tell me which leaf is actually better because I really don't know. First is GH before running into problems with and using old light (variables that can account for the difference I guess) and the new leaf was grown with AN and new light, with all the problems I had. The last is all the newer growth that has picked up after solving my problem (still recovering though). The GH leaf almost looks fake!

it's the organic nutrients that cause your roots to look like shit. could be anybody that makes them.

i don't like AN b/c Big Mike and his buddy which is the COO or CEO of AN went over to Yugoslavia and his buddy raped a 9 year old girl. actually perforated her rectum. and paid a small fine to the police and they both went home. so go on and support a pedophile if you'd like.

either way, you talk a good game but the proof is in those root pics.

Your GH leaf is just purpled. Cold temps, lack of CalMag, or most likely too low leaf surface temperature. If you're against using GH, like I suggested, use Jacks, CalciumNitrate, and Epsom salts.

By the time I run out of what I have for AN I would have gained enough experience and learned enough to start looking for a more custom thing to feed. I would also have a good benchmark to work up to because although I know it is ridiculously expensive, I also know it is really good and gave me fantastic results for a newb. I have been reading up on all the different foods and the differences between growing organic/microbial vs salt/sterile. Learning to read the plant etc. Once I learn enough I will venture into customizing what I feed the plant to save money while maintaining good results. I have a child and run a business I have limited time when we are not in lock down.

Why is the GH leaf so flat and 2D looking VS the texture and detail in the AN leaf?
